Ok I think I've put my finger on one of my biggest pet peeves. When writers feel the need to drastically change canon for no good reason. 2005 Who had the Time War and Time Lords gone but that was a fresh start, a new page. The crazy changes in recent years feel more desperate

@HexNoEyes @RebecTV In Timecrash, Tales of the TARDIS, and Power of the Doctor they reach every time for ways to explain why the actors look older. This catch all excuse would mean never having to bother about it again. I’m not saying it’s good or bad. I’m just saying it may have been the reason.
