I welcome Thomas Mapfumo’s decision to accept payment for his two shows in Zimbabwe. If the reported millions paid for those performances came from people aligned with ZANU-PF, then that money is now in his hands. My hope is that he will use some of it to make a meaningful difference in the lives of ordinary Zimbabweans. Our country has people who cannot afford life-saving medical treatment, including those who need specialist operations abroad. We have children living in poverty, people with disabilities who need support, and families struggling every day while many receive little or no assistance from the government. I would respectfully appeal to Dr. Thomas Mapfumo to consider donating part of this money to help those in need. This is an opportunity to show compassion and make a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable Zimbabweans. History will not only remember how the money was earned, but also how it was used. If he chooses to support the sick, the poor, and people with disabilities, it will send a powerful message that success should also bring responsibility and generosity. Zimbabwe needs more people who use their influence and resources to uplift those who have been forgotten. I sincerely hope Thomas Mapfumo will lead by example. Regards Scotty
