I researched areas online and settled on 3 possible states that had the things I was looking for Then I found the areas and communities I liked the best and compared those areas with our wants Most of them were eliminated when were found we could afford to live on the gulf coast. After that it was vacations and road trips and RV’ing and getting as much getting time as possible in the finalists areas. Finally spent several months watching real estate online until we took a trip out to the best area and looked at our short list of homes and made an offer on two

For those of you who picked up and left crap blue-states, how did you decide where to go? I realize jobs are a factor, but with so many remote opportunities it doesn’t seem to drive moves as much as it used to. So, how did you pick? Did you go in blind and buy? Just curious.

@ThreeCons1 My parents were silent Gen They gave me trash bags for my high school graduation You know, so I could load up all my stuff and leave. But we’re here for our kids whenever they need it Plus we like to randomly help them out because they don’t really ask for help.

@Gunnerklein75 I have helped my kids financially. Here's what's weird... We boomers (I'm Boomex, as I'm between the two, really) like helping our kids if we can afford it. I still eat every day and my car has gasoline, so I guess I can afford it.

Man says he was FIRED from Chilis in Louisiana for calling a FEMALE by her actual name and not using “they/them” pronouns “I’m not participating in that shit anymore. You’re not gonna shame me or force me to participate in it.” “This is a total violation of my first amendment rights, my religious freedom, my free speech.” @Chilis is this true??? Cc @AAGDhillon

As someone who grew up in the Muslim world, I’ve seen this pattern repeat itself: When Muslims are weak and in the minority, they speak endlessly about tolerance, coexistence, and peace. When they become strong and gain power, that tolerance completely disappears, even toward their own people. This isn’t an opinion. This is historical fact, proven across centuries and across many countries. The West needs to understand this pattern before it’s too late. Tolerance in Islam is not a principle. It’s a strategy.

Still just slightly crunchy, but are they ever good! Peaches are pretty high up on my list of fruits, that’s why I planted 3 trees shortly after I bought my farm.
