These Chaser dragonfly nymphs moved very fast across the bottom of our pond; scarily so…they’ve now cut out of and left behind these amazing exoskeletons - think Alien 😁 the two adults I saw had blue (male) body and yellow (female) body. What a privilege to see 😊

@ArtyBagger @frankcottrell_b They are magnificent structures - we had a HUGE one - 5ft x 3ft - which the wasp man took away. He managed to salvage some floors with supporting pillars between each floor - was going to make a Perspex box to take in to primary schools to show the amazing building skills 🐝

@frankcottrell_b It’s an abandoned wasp’s nest. And if you can carefully remove it and open it up you’ll see an architectural wonder that’ll astonish you. I’ve got one removed from the loft and still trying to find a glass cloche big enough to display it in. Buts it’s falling apart.

New year triumph. Tried every year to germinate pips from my favourite apple tree. No luck. Then read about putting them in a bag in the fridge for a few months between wet paper towel. Bingo!! So excited!!!

Got a post office thing saying we were due something that sender didn’t pay full postage. Just pay £5 and we’ll deliver it. So I did. Hoorah! What could it be? A Hamper? A big pressie? Something from abroad? No. A Christmas card with no stamp. FIVE POUNDS!!! 🎅🏻
