2026 will be the comeback year where the Conservatives win a majority government, Pierre Poilievre becomes Prime Minister, the Liberals are voted out of office, and hope is restored in Canada. Hope you all have a healthy and prosperous New Year.

@echipiuk In Canada, healthcare is administered by the provincial government which is this case is the UCP. This provincial government has underfunded and tinkered with the healthcare system and this is just one of many disastrous and heartbreaking outcomes.

A man died in an Edmonton hospital while waiting for emergency care, begging for help that never came. That is not a policy failure in the abstract. It is a human tragedy, and it should outrage every Canadian. No one can tell me that Canada is not broken, or dismiss this by saying “it’s worse somewhere else.” That kind of deflection is a moral failure in itself. We do not measure our standards by the lowest bar. We measure them by whether people are treated with dignity and whether lives are protected. No amount of rhetoric about “free public health care” justifies negligence, indifference, or disregard for human life. A system funded by the public purse exists for one purpose: to help people when they are most vulnerable. When it fails at that most basic duty, the moral cost is unacceptable. What is most disturbing is the absence of accountability. In our public system, no one appears to be responsible, no consequences, no urgency, no ownership. When systems are run by layers of unaccountable management, frontline failure becomes normalized and human suffering becomes invisible. Public services cannot mean unanswerable services. If we are going to fund essential services collectively, they must be competently managed, rigorously overseen, and relentlessly focused on the people they are meant to serve. Anything less is not compassion it is negligence dressed up as policy. These are egregious and unconscionable failures that should never be accepted as normal, just or acceptable, yet they happen time and time again. So the question is simple: how many more people must be ignored, dismissed, or lost before we demand real accountability from the systems that exist to serve us?

A 44-year-old Edmonton man has died, leaving behind his wife and three children, after reportedly waiting more than eight hours at the Grey Nuns Hospital while experiencing persistent chest pain. While waiting, he allegedly reported blurred vision and had a blood pressure reading of 210, and was reportedly given only Tylenol.

Albertans are tired of the last 10 years of the federal government’s unsustainable immigration policies putting huge burdens on our education, healthcare, and housing sectors. It’s time we start having a hard conversation about exercising more control over immigration policy and whether the province should limit eligibility for social services only to citizens, permanent residents, and individuals with an immigration permit granted by the Alberta government. This week the NDP voted against our motion to protect Albertans’ right to defend their homes and families. The NDP may not like it, but I will never apologize for standing up for Albertans.

Yesterday, I introduced the Freedom Convoy Recognition Act in the BC Legislature, an important bill to officially and permanently honour the convoy’s vital role in keeping Canada glorious and free when our most cherished rights were under threat.

@JeffreyRWRath If this is the case, the UCP should call an election right now and run on an Alberta independence platform. In reality, they don't have the guts.

Nenshi - So are you messing with recall or what's the deal? Smith - Yeah, we're making some changes on Thursday, but what I really want to talk about is how much the NDP hurt the coal companies. For real. That was her pivot. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

Let’s talk about an Alberta Pension Plan for a minute. With our young Alberta workforce paying billions more into the CPP each year than our seniors get back in benefits, it’s time to ask whether we stay with the status quo or create our own Alberta Pension Plan that would guarantee as good or better benefits for seniors and lower premiums for workers. I want to hear your perspective on this idea and please check out the video. Get the facts. Join the conversation. Visit Alberta.ca/next
