Billionaire hedge fund manager @RayDalio has said the UK is in a debt doom loop. The government has 101% of debt to GDP ratio. It spends 45% of GDP. It borrows to pay interest payments. This is wildly unsustainable and irresponsible. The doom loop bit happens when the government raises taxes to fund debt, higher taxes reduce growth, reduced growth reduces investment, reduced investment causes wealth creators to leave and the 1% who pay 30% of the taxes pull away from the system. When they leave, the government needs to raise even more taxes. This dangerous scenario is what I warned about when debating @garyseconomics earlier this year. The doom loop could end but the government would have to cap spending at 35% of GDP. Then create special economic zones or tax breaks for wealth creators to come in and invest and grow new companies. It would have to take the medicine of fiscal responsibility- no more printing money or borrowing more in debt. It would be painful short term but would set things right. Will they do it though?

This is how you kill a society! The UK 🇬🇧 and the West in general has become impossible for younger people. The numbers really do not add up. Full time median salary in the UK is £37,430 before tax and other deductions. BEAR in mind this number is significantly lower for those in their 20s... you know the age where they should be buying homes and potentially having children. After tax, 3% pension contributions and minimal Student Loan payments, this comes up to roughly £2.4k a month. -£1k rent. -£500 bills (council tax, utilities, internet, car insurance and other bits). -£400 food/month. -£100 petrol. -£200 enjoyment/clothes/anything else? That leaves just £200 a month for savings or anything else. The worst thing about this is that these numbers could easily be higher and especially so if you're in London/South of England. Housing and asset prices are rising faster than what they can afford to save. Haven't even mentioned children. Completely fucked over. We're at the point whereby if any young person who is not from a rich background and wants to be sufficiently wealthy enough to have a family and retire at a reasonable age, their only option is through buying Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the only way to save yourself.
