Ed Gallrein increase the voter turnout, in his race against the incumbent “Thomas Massie” by 356%. This has never once happened in any primary election in U.S. history going back to the 1970. Total voter turnout out in a primary increased by over 100%. Going from 52,593 in 2024 to 105,361 in 2026. This has also never once happened in a primary election since 1970. Thomas Massie lost by 10,280 ish votes. Ed Gallrein received 10,854 mail in votes yesterday. Ed also received over 57,000 votes and he could get 100 people to show up to a victory party? U.S. House lawmakers have proposed bipartisan legislation that would require electric vehicles to pay a $130 fee to pay for road repairs annually and $35 for some plug-in hybrid models.
The House is working on a five-year highway reauthorization bill expected to cost more than $500 billion ahead of the current law expiration on Sept 30, 2026. Most revenue for federally funded road repairs is collected through diesel and gasoline taxes, which EVs do not pay.
I think $130 is fair since over time there will be fewer gas vehicles on the road generating tax revenue, They'll need to make up the difference somewhere so they can keep repairing roads, etc.

Update on JP Morgan lawsuit:
Lawsuit was re-filed in Manhattan today, this time with more allegations against Hajdini.
Included are signed affirmations from witnesses, including from a man who was sleeping on the couch of John Doe one night when Hajdini allegedly stormed in. She then lit a cigarette, stripped, and asked him to join in on a threesome.
The NY Post also reported today that Rana (who they say is John Doe) made up the death of his father for bereavement leave.

Turns out the story of the year was just...made up. and it gets worse.
- John Doe is Chirayu Rana, 35, now a principal at Bregal Sagemount. he left JPMorgan and went straight to private equity.
- The whole "threaten his bonus" premise collapsed. Hajdini reported to a completely different managing director than Rana. she had no say over his compensation.
- JPMorgan pulled phone records, reviewed emails, interviewed the full team. found nothing. Rana even refused to participate in his own investigation.
- A colleague described Rana as "socially awkward" but someone who "met the requirements" to stay at the bank.
- Before any lawsuit, he tried to negotiate a payout in the "millions" to leave the bank quietly. they didn't bite.
- He filed court filing, then his lawyers retracted it for "corrections" and deleted it. But the Daily Mail already ran the whole thing and the rest twitter did its thing.
so he tried to get paid, didn't, then filed a now-retracted complaint against someone who couldn't touch his bonus. wild.
