@IHTAcast Except when it came to Egypt. Apparently God wanted to be a little quirky about the rules there.

@HAL900001 @HiatoPdss @HMBohemond 1. Because it wasent an election, it was a militanly athiest enpire succumbing to more internal rot. Thats the story from M32 to M41 2. Because that is fate itself. The dark king prophecy literally spells out that this is the fate of every single sentient species. Even the T'au

You're a stellar example of what I mean when I say tourists present simplistic views as complex and oversimplify complex views. "The galaxy sucks and there are no good guys" is a simplistic view, presented by tourists as a complex understanding. It's simplistic because it only looks at the most surface level, aesthetic factors of Warhammer 40k to determine a moral judgement of the factions. "The Imperium are the good guys" is a complex view, presented simplistically. It factors in WHY things are the way they are, HOW mankind got to where they are and WHO is responsible for making them that way. Saying it with certainly requires knowledge and understanding of the lore on a deeper level. "Warhammer 40k has no good guys" is what you say when you're either new, uneducated, or deliberately mischaracterizing the setting and the factions.

@ItsLulu_7 Isn’t this implying that nobody would be in charge of anything on the left? Or did the Fascists paint the Earth continents red or some shit?

@neosovietposter Seriously though, the Imperium was started on a manifest destiny that mankind deserved to rule, and that any aliens should ALL be eradicated. “B-but Age of Strife!” As if humans weren’t doing the same thing to each other and would’ve done worse if not for losing the MOI.

No they suck ass and are far and away the most dangerous entity to humans in the galaxy. Which is fucking awesome and I don’t understand why we have to pretend they are The Heroes to enjoy the fucking setting.

@SpectoCustodes @Chainsword40k A lot of the argument for humanity being “good” despite its evil is “the galaxy forces it to be that way”. But the very second you mention their stupidity with something like the MOI, they say you’re moving the goalpost because “that wasn’t the Imperium! That was past humans!”

@Chainsword40k A whole lot of folks need to grow up and realize you can root for the bad guys *in a fictional context* and it says nothing about your own moral standing. Insisting that the Imperium isn't an evil fucking nightmare, just so you don't feel guilty for rooting for them, is silly

While he isn’t entirely wrong, this is extremely cherry-picked. Most people in the Imperium don’t know how servitors are made, or don’t think about it because it's just a part of everyday life, especially since many of them are either vat-grown, actual criminals or criminals against AdMech, which is basically a separate faction. Whenever this argument comes up to show how evil and fucked up the Imperium is, people tend to ignore the context around servitors. I wonder how many of those same people realize that the phone, tablet, or whatever shit they’re browsing Twitter with was probably made using child labor or near-slave labor? Does that mean the human race is inherently evil, or just that some people are?

The imperium is only GOOD for the imperium It is species survival Eldarri for Eldarri Orks - well they don’t care Necrons for Necrons and a dead universe Tau - are to naive to live for much longer The Kin - clone race who hid for a specific reason Nids - the extragalactic bio weapon from the old ones against the Ctan finally making it to the Milky Way Every race is out for itself - for its own good. So when I am asked is the imperium Good - yes in the most barbaric and worser way possible

Bro I've literally read more BL books then you by such a huge margin it is hilariously embarassing for you to post that meme. Bet you didnt read a single sentence of my article either but it talked about something with an opinion that is different then your own so of course its immediately bad. What a small, sad little world you live in Noise.

@mobius_b The people are *told* servitors were all criminals who deserve their fate. The majority are vat-grown and mindless. But the imperium uses billions of servitors, and Mars will happily convert entire populations if they think it is advantageous.

There are actually good scenes and contexts about this in the Priests of Mars series that show why servitors exist not because the Imperium is “evil,” but as a means to an end. - Somewhere in the second book of lords of mars, a strike (yes there a thing in 40k) is started because of the harsh conditions the Adeptus Mechanicus imposes on the lower-ranking bondsmen. The bondsman who emerges as a key figure in the rebellion, Abrehem, has his hypocrisy pointed out during the events involving his use of an arco-flagellant named Rasselas X-42. And was pointed out to Abrehem that he knows nothing about what the flagellant did or who he was, without any knowledge of the crimes of his past, yet he is still using him as a tool for the strike. Abrehem then, out of respect and to address his own hypocrisy, and technologically links his mind to the experiences the arco-flagellant’s memories. He is shown all the horrible things the man did while alive, revealing that he was a cruel madman who slaughtered and punished innocent people. This makes Abrehem realize something he already knew when his former overseer Ismael was turned into a servitor for his dissent against the admech, And now again with the Rasselas X-42 why most of the Imperium ignores or doesn’t care about servitors. Simply because many of those people who become servitors are the ones who were violent and aggressive toward their fellow man and the Imperium itself, punished for their crimes and dissent with eternal servitude “Servitude Imperpituis”.

@SimplyShae13 They’ll say the galaxy forces the Imperium to be horrible, and then when you mention all the past fuck ups of humanity they go “oh, that was yesterday’s humanity! It doesn’t count!”

@TheNicholasWolf It’s weird that they need to claim there are no good guys in the setting and then try to justify the most obviously evil faction as morally grey or misunderstood. They’re sick people to identify with Chaos or any Xeno race. Emperor never forgive them.
