A variant can be used to close sheath in small to moderate incisional hernias. ‘Near and far’ suture. I think it’s referred to as a ‘Cardiff Repair’. Nice technique. Knots tie over the midline in this variant. #SurgEd

Fantastic to see @HART_trial data - a decade on!! Higher SSI rate in HAR arm, NS signal of benefit in incisional hernia rate @ 1-year - extended F/U to come. High CT rate of hernia @ 1-year (50%!) - ++ research needed. @TorkiJ @rhiharries @jules_cornish @davebosanquet 👏👏👏
