Good article this, not just because it has @FoxtrotStudy in it! But still how often will we STILL have the argument in the MDT about giving NAC in colon cancer.

Survival and safety after neoadjuvant chemotherapy or upfront surgery for locally advanced colon cancer: meta-analysis ➡️ doi.org/10.1093/bjs/zn… This systematic review and meta-analysis of seven studies involving 2120 patients with locally advanced colon cancer found that neoadjuvant chemotherapy is associated with a reduced hazard of recurrence and death, as well as improved 5-year overall survival and disease-free survival rates, compared with upfront surgery. No significant differences in perioperative complications or mortality were found, but neoadjuvant chemotherapy decreased the risk of incomplete resection. In conclusion, neoadjuvant chemotherapy appears to offer oncological benefits in the treatment of locally advanced colon cancer. A good article.. but let’s not forget @FoxtrotStudy had all comers enrolled at T3-4 N1/2 whereas HIPECT only enrolled T4 at baseline…
