The Capital Development Authority’s action has created a deeply troubling environment for overseas Pakistani investors who acted in good faith, dedicating their hard-earned foreign assets to the development of our homeland. Governance requires a clear separation between corporate regulatory compliance and the preservation of third-party property rights. A contractual or financial dispute between a state regulator and a private developer must never serve as the legal mechanism to divest innocent, bona fide buyers of their rightfully acquired ownership. We collectively call upon the Government of Pakistan to give third-party owners their title deeds. Allowing innocent investors to bear the liabilities of corporate defaults risks inflicting far-reaching, structural damage on international investor confidence. The couple in this video are Wesam Mekdad, a Palestinian from Gaza, and his heavily pregnant German wife. Police were called after Wesam broke his TV — he had just learned that 'israel' murdered his brother. The couple were cooperative. They explained the situation. The wife wanted to ask the police if she can accompany her husband. The police responded with brutality. People from Nationaal Protest (an anti‑immigration group) are so outraged by how a pregnant woman was treated that they have offered to help the couple file a complaint against the police. The wife gave birth earlier than expected. A baby girl. Healthy, thank God. Her name is Reem. 🤍

We are a country where the Inspector General of Police appears unaware that law enforcement cannot raid or attack buildings without a proper warrant.
Where the Planning Minister and Finance Minister rarely sit together, compare notes, or align their strategies.
Where The Finance Minister openly states that the IMF essentially writes his budget and that he must seek permission for major decisions.
Meanwhile, the Planning Minister offers no credible growth strategy—only ad-hoc, foundationless policies that lack vision or substance.
Too many ministries operate without clear purpose or competence. The Education Ministry, for instance, busies itself with interfering in autonomous institutions, restricting their ability to actually teach rather than enabling excellence.
Parliament routinely passes laws without reading them, without meaningful debate, and without addressing the serious challenges confronting the nation.
Academia produces little genuine research and offers almost no practical ideas or solutions to the country’s pressing problems.
Civil society remains largely disengaged—focused primarily on weddings, funerals, and performative roles as speakers and audiences at donor-funded conferences that generate more talk than impact.
Foreign lenders and consultants routinely shape policy to suit their own priorities rather than the needs and aspirations of the country’s people.
And the judiciary frequently (but after decades of deliberation) undermines contracts and economic value through rulings that show little regard for economic analysis or a coherent understanding of law and economics.
This is a system marked by fragmentation, lack of accountability, and institutional drift—where form often replaces function, and short-term expediency crowds out long-term national interest.
