Something powerful happened in Mombasa!
Women #mediators from across the Horn of Africa are no longer waiting to be “included”, they are stepping forward, owning their #space, and redefining how #peace processes work. Together with other partners @agencypb and @HC4Democracy , @Mwarpkenya proudly participated in this dynamic convening organized by Agency for Peacebuilding with Funding from Ministry of Foreign Affairs Italy, bringing together 20 bold #women ready to shift the narrative.
This isn’t about building skills, those already exist. It’s about breaking barriers. Across #Ethiopia, #Kenya, #SouthSudan, #Sudan, #Somalia, and #Somaliland, the challenge has never been #capability. It’s been #access, #recognition, and the ability to stay and #influence in rooms not designed for them.
In this space, the focus is real and intentional:
navigating systems that weren’t built for you
standing firm in high-stakes spaces
turning presence into real influence
Through shared experiences, strategy, and collaboration, these women are not just participating in peacebuilding, they are reshaping it. And as #MWARP, we are proud to stand among changemakers who are proving that when women rise together, they don’t just join the table, they transform it.
This is more than a convening. It’s a movement.
