I tried to stop the ludicrous British government plastic straw ban back in 2018. These lefty policies resulted in the Conservatives getting trounced in 2024. Good for @realDonaldTrump for standing up for common sense.

@vitt2tsnoc She’s wearing a dress which is like tights. She is not naked. You can see through it though. I agree it is not a healthy relationship though.

Kanye West is a narcissistic, abusive piece of shit, hiding behind mental illness. He's stripped his wife of all clothes and self respect, she's nothing but a puppet, meanwhile he's of course, ALWAYS fully clothed. This isn't "art" - it's abuse. At what point is enough enough?

@NHTeaParties @IAmJustInTime2 @atrupar There are different types of oil used for different things. America produces a different type to Canada. It’s cost effective to switch rather than spend time and effort and money trying to refine what you have to what you need.

Trump: "Mexico and Canada have never been good to us on trade. They've treated us very unfairly on trade. And we will be able to make that up very quickly because we don't need the products that they have. We have all the oil you need. We have all the trees you need, meaning the lumber."

@DeputyGrocott 2/ his mates were somewhat baffled. He said to them “we did this at weekends and on holidays, didn’t you?” As each friend said “no” he texted us, “why was walking at the wkend/picnic our favourite activity”. The answer is obvious, a tank of petrol and the rest of the day is free!

@DeputyGrocott When 3rd child left home and went on holiday with his mates they were deciding what to do. He said “well aren’t we going to go on a walk?” His mates looked at him a little bit confused. He said “we get the OS map out, pick something that looks cool and go there to hang out”. 1/

Does anyone else have children who always want to ‘do something’ at the weekend? Our 12 year old regularly wants entertaining. It’s cold, a bit miserable and it’s not always cheap to do something every weekend! Then you feel bad!

I had a running argument with someone at work. I insisted you need to parboil potatoes for 10 minutes to get the best roasties. They insisted you didn't. This went on for the entirety of her 18 month contract. I specifically didn't renew their contract as I'm right.

@gg4dxqn22f @MorrisonBeth @HookinMad If you want to throw mud, at least show up for it. Own your beliefs or recognise they are unpleasant and unkind and you will be judged by others for them. No picture and half a name suggests you know you’re doing wrong.

5 Yr old autistic boy practised so hard for his nativity. His mum was asked to "keep him at home" by the headteacher because he didn't understand when to stop singing! His mummy and daddy are devastated 😭 Wee one is upset and confused at being excluded. So sad.

@MorrisonBeth So wrong. What school does that? Shocking. The nativity is not meant to be a staged, ticketed performance. It is meant to be kids enjoying seasonally activities together. The chair of governors and ofsted would have received a letter if this was my child.

We need to do more to keep people like this in our profession. I read so many accounts of those on UPS3 or lower SLT wanting to leave. What advice would you offer?

Look, I’m not going to have a row with my husband on our wedding anniversary of all days. But, BIZARRELY, he had never before heard the expression “It’s not the hen that cackles most that lays the largest egg”. He’s just laughing incredulously and implying I made it up.

I'm writing about the importance of life insurance in this weeks MSE email. Its painful to raise to parents the chance they'll die while their little ones are still little. Yet I'm steeling myself - the bitter taste of discussing this nightmare scenario is nothing compared to the bitter impact of not having discussed it, if it happens.
