Specialty debt has a maximum time limit of 12 years. Considering what was settled in to trust was the right to the loan wouldn’t that render the value at £0 if over 12 years old. No IHT?

So many suicides & so much grief for the LC victims family’s & friends, No amount of sorrys will bring them back Or cure the mental illness caused by HMRC, civil servants, politicians.
All should be ashamed of their actions!

Mel Stride (who has blocked many UK journalists on this platform) is the chap that pushed both the #loancharge and #ir35 reforms through Parliament as FST. I’ve got tons of letters, as have others, with his name on - that gaslights individuals who wrote real concerns to their MPs. He’s made a career out of being a PR postbox for civil servants.

Lots of people have been getting in touch with me about the parallels between the #PostOffceScandal and tax matters like #ir35 and the #LoanChargeScandal. Granted no-one has been locked up, like the awful consequences of the PO actions. But there are absolutely parallels. Weak ministerial oversight leading to abuse of power by the tax office. In terms of numbers, there are 100x more victims from the Loan Charge. About the same on IR35, circa 500 - but it’s all yet to come out.

But they've been stymied by the indifference of the Treasury (and an apparent unwillingness of the Labour opposition to make too much noise). 1/2

threatening emails - playing with our minds to get results, letters arriving on birthdays, bank hols, etc so you couldn’t contact any 1

Many people who contacted me about #loancharge said they effectively had no choice; they had to sign up to be paid. Others questioned people behind them and were told they were 'QC approved' and 'HMRC compliant'. They didn't INTEND to avoid responsibilities as taxpayers
