He was consulted on the plan, and was the target of a strike on Day 1 designed to kill his IRGC guards and free him from house arrest. In that strike, he was injured, became disillusioned, and has not been seen publicly since. The blueprint was modeled on Venezuela: (1) decapitate the government, (2) install a compliant replacement, (3) declare victory. 🇺🇸🇪🇺 The Iran war just solved Europe's EV problem. Oil above $100 a barrel and suddenly the "maybe someday" crowd is at the dealership. New EV registrations up 34% across Europe in April, and that's just the people who already pulled the trigger. Used EVs are moving even faster. Octopus Electric Vehicles saw a 95% jump in new EV demand and 160% in used, in a single month. The Chinese brands are the real story though. BYD went from niche to most-searched almost overnight. Carwow says purchase inquiries for BYD grew 25,000% in Q1. That's not a typo. VW's Seat/Cupra brand says EVs are now nearly 60% of orders in Germany, against a production quota of 25%. Renault says half its UK registrations in April were electric. Everyone is scrambling to raise production on something they spent years trying to convince people to buy.
