If you import 1 tonne of coal, you can burn it to generate ~2 MWh of electricity. If you import 1 tonne of solar panels, you can use them to generate ~1,000 MWh of electricity.

Var ska vi egentligen börja vårt klimatarbete – i företaget, kommunen, regionen, organisationen eller helt enkelt det egna hemmet. Svaret brukar först göra folk besvikna... myspeaker.se/nyheter/var-sk…

Not sure there's a single chart that better summarizes the relentless improvement of batteries. Costs down over 90%, energy density up ~5X. In just over 20 years. Innovation is incredible. Chart from @RockyMtnInst rmi.org/the-rise-of-ba…

I am on team "no, we will probably not see 1TW of annual installations by 2025, because it's very hard to see where they would all go". Our forecast is 585GW for 2024 and 641GW in 2025. Anyway there will certainly be bankrupt PV manufacturers. There often are.

There are more and more negative prices in the electricity markets. Paying others to consume something is like considering it as "trash". Does not seem logical. So, here is a thread with the reasons for negative prices. 🧵 1/11

Given that my follower count is now similar to the population of a small country, I'm thinking of doing a survey to collect some interesting/stupid data and make some maps. If you have any suggestions for questions/maps then now is the time to speak up! Thanks 🙃

Cheap stationary batteries will pave the way for wind and solar in cheap and resilient energy grids. Unfortunately the @IEA is mispredicting it (again). Thread based on a free substack article I just wrote. aukehoekstra.substack.com/p/batteries-li…
