This is the first time we’ve seen a PGAT event play a course that LIV had previously been too. Quite clear golf fans in Miami have turned into LIV fans only as the crowds at each LIV Miami event were 5 times as big as the turn out for the PGAT.
NUCLR GOLF@NUCLRGOLF

🚨😬⛳️ #LOOK — Sparse crowds are on-site at Doral for the final round of the Cadillac Championship - a Signature Event. This was the crowd following the final group of Cam Young, Scottie Scheffler & Si Woo Kim at the 5th. What do you make of the light galleries this week?

If you’re an American consider the outside world of golf & us in Australia.LIV gave us the chance to see many of the games best players, outside of that it’s Presidents Cup each 10-15 years or pay one player more than the total field prize money to turn up ( Tiger and now Rory)
Jay Sapovits@Jay_Sapovits

Who exactly was hurt by LIV? $5b into golf ecosystem from them, $2b from private equity. Ratings higher than ever. Participation higher than ever. Fans have more interest. Players make more money. Eco system has more money. Who got hurt? LIV was the best thing to happen to golf and its going away will be bad. Product was meh, but it was necessary and brought good things to the sport I love.

Rory McIlroy doesn’t care about the vast majority of PGA Tour events, why should the fans? Golf is quickly becoming a sport with 5 annual events worth watching. Not a good formula for longterm success.

@ProGolfCritic If you haven't figured it out yet, about 98% of golf fans like the meritocracy model, it's what sets golf apart from other sports. As we're seeing, signing golfers to big, multi-year contracts is counterproductive on multiple levels.

I hate to kill Bambi again, but pro golf (for the most part) is a debt producing business that most should not pursue. Most players that make it are well-financed or you’re indebted to someone rich that doesn’t mind the risk of losing money (see Tony Finau), but they also own a part of you. That is professional golf (particularly in 🇺🇸). It shouldn’t be this way, but it is. Meritocracy though. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Perfect example of the mini tour grind: I just finished 9th out of 168 players at the SoCal Open. Entry fee was $800. My pay check was $843 for a $43 profit… Take out expenses: -Airbnb: $500 -Food: $140 -Gas: $120 -Practice round: $150 -Yardage book: $35 Total: $945. Winnings ($43) - Expenses ($945)= -$902. Not the best week in the end 🤦🏼‍♂️ #Playbetter

@Cram68597546 @HMBurgerz @CoreyMcKernan Who said anything about exciting? The point he was making is that the quality of golfers on tour is much greater than on LIV. Also, if you're looking for exciting personalities watching pro golf, they are few and far between throughout history.

When people say “Golf will be better when LIV goes away” they really mean AMERICAN golf will be better. World golf will be even worse off than before @PGATOUR @livgolf_league

@gfienberg17 You putting labels on people is a sign that golf has been politicized. You can’t have an opinion anymore without being labeled “hardo” “shill” “bot”. Golf has been ruined, just reset the whole thing and start over.

The discourse around the Blue Monster this week is a great example of what differentiates between PGA and LIV hardos. The amount of people whom would be considered a PGA Tour schill/main stream golf media that have taken shots at this weeks PGA Tour event for a potpourri of reasons. While its nearly impossible to get LIV hardos to say anything negative about LIV over the last few years. 98% of PGA hardos are very hard on the pga tour, make fun of it all the time. Many negative complaints publicy stated re pga tour operation from pga tour hardos. Get a LIV hardo to take a shot at LIV, no easy task.

@seyikanbai Imagine being rich enough to sit courtside but too out of touch to know one of the biggest stars on earth. Having billionaire money clearly doesn't buy you a pulse on actual culture.

A wealthy white billionaire and his wife were seated courtside right next to Drake. The jumbotron kept flashing Drake on the screen, and eventually the man leaned over and asked him if he was famous.

An investment idea for @livgolf_league - have all the captains pool their massive sign on bonuses from PIF into a consortium & buy the league. It would have to be around $1bn & they can back the concept they committed so strongly to. Would be akin to SSG’s investment into PGAT.

PGA TOUR holds a minority stake in Skratch, which has offices inside its Ponte Vedra HQ at Sawgrass. All LIV Golf content is doom and gloom. No disclosure of conflict. Beyond corrupt! #FakeNews #LIVGolf #PGATOUR

Let's not forget Cam Smith... "If there's something I need to say regarding the PGA Tour or LIV, it will come from Cameron Smith and not Cameron Percy" Two days later it was announced that he was jumping and we never heard anything from him.

‘Guys went because they believed in something different’ We saw Rahmbo’s belief system on it laid bare … Not for me Not for me Not for me $400m … get me that Letterman jacket I’ve no fundamental issue with that but let’s just admit the payment was the first factor
Arlo White@arlowhite

@BenColeyGolf World class journalists? Look, if u want US hegemony over an entire global sport, then u should be delighted right? Guys went because they believed in something different. Got money because they made the leap. Played in amazing atmospheres around the world.

@ANGC_burner So many jubilant American golf twitter accounts this week. And fair play to them. You’re right to celebrate. Been a long time coming. The great golf war of 2022-26 is the first war America has won in 80+ years.
