I like that Tanzanians and Ugandans find our election process amazing and full of wonder. What I like even more is that we Kenyans are still expecting even more from ourselves and the iebc. May we not lower those standards. That's how you win.

@SamRosmarin Not only names! My dad was born in Asosa but when he first applied for a passport, it was incorrectly put down as Asela…. 40-something years later despite many attempts to correct, that is where all official docs have as his place of birth

Why is it normalized that names on official documents aren’t spelled consistently in Ethiopia? One person often has their name spelled 3 different ways across different documents— kebele ID, degrees, passport, etc. And not just in English, but different spellings in Amharic too

@HM_Adisu This is exactly what the current conflict has taught me. The grotesquely simplified/misinformed/partial outputs by reputable media outlets & armchair analysts/"experts", makes me question everything I thought I knew about other spaces/conflicts/countries.

All of the shoddy/incomplete analysis of #Ethiopia by int media & “experts” makes me think about all the other conflicts/countries I rely on them for info on - and how little I know

Our sister are sleeping on the street they are over 40 some dumped by their sponsors some ran from abuser what’s worse than being forced to sleep like this. This is outside our embassy in Beirut we are providing food sanitizer, masks & tickets but we need to shout for these girls
