Altitude now does $1B in annualized payment volume across banking and stablecoin rails. A large share of that comes from companies in crypto on and off ramping stablecoins via ACH, wire, SEPA, and SWIFT. We’ve been running Squads on stablecoins since day one and we built Altitude to be the best way for businesses to move between crypto and traditional payment rails. DM me if on/off ramping is still painful for your business. We’ll solve it once and for all.

Congrats to our partners @togethercompute on their $800M Series C fundraising round. Few teams have done more to make open models fast, accessible, and production-ready. We’re excited to keep working with @vipulved and the team on the next frontier of inference: lower costs, better performance, and open models at real scale.

@prlnet Giving the miner the choice of (A,B) without sacrificing the proof of security is the ultimate key to censorship-resistant inference. If the mathematical theory holds up under real production loads, the entire network economics shift into another dimension.

Pearl’s math breakthrough is that Proof-of-Work can now run on top of arbitrary matrix multiplication AxB, with vanishing o(1) overhead. The key difference: the miner choose (A,B). This “2-for-1” technology means the hundreds of billions - soon trillions - of $$ in AI compute can secure Pearl’s PoW chain, effectively for free. The result? the world’s most economical inference. arxiv.org/abs/2504.09971

Inference is becoming the largest compute market and energy consumer in AI. Pearl turns inference CapEx of hyperscalers into a profit center: every LLM token produced by GPUs can simultaneously generate ¶PRL in parallel. That means users get 2-for-1 economics: useful inference today, and Pearl coins that discount future compute. We’re excited to partner with Together AI to launch the first 2-for-1 inference endpoint offering SoTA LLMs at discounted price, and securing the Pearl network in parallel.

A new paper worth being excited about: proofs of useful work (pouw) by Ilan Komargodski @komargodski, Itamar Schen, and Omri Weinstein @WeinsteinOmri. arxiv.org/pdf/2504.09971 tldr; a pow function involving matrix multiplication such that the miner can choose the matrices freely (eg matrices used for own AI inference)---counterintuitive that main pow properties still hold, but they do. This is the first useful pow that makes sense since the idea was proposed about a decade ago. Why definitely important: solves / significantly mitigates security budget draining threat, by adding a funding source (the usefulness) for mining. Why could be important: mitigates wastefulness of pow by plugging into a high demand computation market, namely AI inference (/training). I believe addressing this issue is vital for political feasibility of pow, it's too easy for politicians to rally public opinion against wasteful pow; admittedly feels like the pow bon ton gets a kick out of this misalignment. Possible criticism: some argue wastefulness is essential for security, and that usefulness effectively funds attacks or removes attack costs (related: arxiv.org/abs/1605.09193). One remedy is the constant wasteful overhead that still exists in pouw, but mainly I believe this is not a real threat if you successfully penetrate a huge computation market with so many diverse players; the vast scale of this market can arguably cover for model imperfections (which are inherent to the objective). Notes: (i) afaiu from the team, current pouw requires adaptation to be fit for high bps; (ii) pouw unrelated to opow/kheavyhash though shares some common goals. Congrats on this achievement pouw team, tracking your progress! x.com/Lhree/status/1…

Quick recap for those who haven’t been following. In April 2025, a paper drops on arxiv:@komargodski , Shan & @WeinsteinOmri propose a PoW function based on verifiable matrix multiplication, where the miner freely chooses their matrices. In plain terms: the miner can run their AI inference while mining. The AI workload IS the proof of work. @hashdag shared the paper twice. To him, it’s “the first useful #PoW that makes sense since the idea was proposed about a decade ago.” One year after the whitepaper, the mainnet is live. It’s called @prlnet , with its token $PRL. What it actually does: → Bitcoin fork, 2.1B max supply, Bitcoin-style emission curve → The classic hash function is replaced by the matrix mult described in the paper → Trustless verification via zkSNARKs (Plonky2) → ~10% overhead compared to pure AI compute → Fair launch Network state as I write this: • Hashrate 3.61 EH/s • 7.1% of supply in circulation • Block time ~94s (target 194s) • Live for a few weeks now What makes this worth watching, beyond the token: it’s the first time a PoW chain shows up with a clean answer to the energy waste argument. The compute is useful, measurable, sellable. The “PoW vs environment” debate shifts in nature. Worth digging into for those who go deeper: t.me/BlackPearlMkt pearlresearch.ai explorer.pearlresearch.ailordofpearls.xyz #KAS #PRL #Kaspa

Squads
Squads@multisig·
Announcing Solana Multisig Tools Three new open-source tools for Squads Protocol v4. All three are small, self-hostable, and built with minimal dependencies. We're actively engaging with STRIDE to help strengthen multisig management practices on Solana. This is the first step towards multiple independent frontends and access points to v4. multisig-cli A focused Rust CLI for reviewing, simulating, signing, and executing multisig proposals. It parses multisig accounts and instructions directly instead of pulling in a large dependency tree. The result is a binary that's easy to audit and well suited for high-trust operational workflows. If you're using an older CLI, we recommend switching to this multisig-cli which has minimal dependencies. multisig-verifier A static, zero-backend browser UI. Reads multisigs state directly from Solana RPCs, decodes proposals, tracks approvals, and lets members approve or reject from their own wallet. No secrets leave the browser. Strict CSP rules by default. multisig-monitor Real-time visibility into multisig activity. Watches configured multisigs, decodes actions, and emits notifications when members create, vote on, execute, or modify configuration. Treasury and governance events surface as they happen. The pattern across all three: inspect before signing, verify before approving, monitor after execution. Smaller dependency surfaces reduce supply-chain risk. Direct decoding reduces blind signing. Open implementations are reviewable end-to-end. Monitoring closes the loop. We strongly encourage every team to verify what they're signing through more than one interface. Don't rely solely on any single frontend. Cross-check with a CLI, an independent verifier, or a second client before approving anything that matters. We're working with a number of security teams who will host their own versions of the multisig-verifier. You can self-host today. Soon teams will also be able to access independently operated instances run by parties with no affiliation to Squads. Link to the repo in the post below.
