The Police Association of Ontario’s 35th Annual Police Employment Conference is an important opportunity to bring policing leaders together to focus on recruitment, retention, and the future of public safety in our province. Pleased to attend in Etobicoke alongside Premier @fordnation and PAO President. Our government will continue working with the Police Association of Ontario and partners across Ontario to ensure officers have the tools, training, and support they need to keep communities safe.

It's an exciting day when a recruit gets signed off by their coach officer to start patrolling on their own. Today @HaltonPolice 30 Division on one of my 'District Days', I ran into @HRPAssoc member, Cst. Tornifoglia, newly signed off and ready to hit the road. Congrats, Sam!

Today, we extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated sworn and civilian members on duty, away from their loved ones, keeping Ontario safe on #FamilyDay! Your commitment and sacrifices do not go unnoticed, and we are truly thankful for your service. We also recognize the strength and resilience of policing families, whose support makes this work possible every day. Your unwavering encouragement is the backbone of our community. In light of the recent tragedy in Tumbler Ridge, our hearts go out to the families of the victims, those who are injured, and the entire community. On this day especially, we stand with you, offering our deepest condolences, strength, and solidarity.

RCMP officers responded to the active shooter in Tumbler Ridge within 120 seconds. Their courage and swift action in the face of unimaginable danger are more than admirable. Thank you to the Halton Regional Police Service for the tour of headquarters today and for the opportunity to see their operations firsthand. I appreciated the discussion with leadership and officers about the work they’re doing every day to support community safety and public confidence in policing. Our government will continue working closely with police services to ensure they have the tools they need to keep communities safe.

Great to sit down today with @CouncillorKnoll - Chair of the @HPBoard. We had a thorough and thoughtful conversation about the state of policing and the relationship between our two boards. I'm hopeful that this is the beginning of working together for the betterment of both.

As many did, we watched today’s update on Project South and were disturbed by the allegations, if proven to be true. To be very clear, legal support for members charged in criminal cases is not guaranteed by the TPA and is determined on a case-by-case basis. In fact, there is nothing our members or the TPA hate more than a corrupt cop. We want to acknowledge the work of our members, and the members from other police services, who demonstrated true integrity and professionalism throughout this very challenging investigation. We are urging the public to continue supporting the thousands of police members who show up every day to protect them and their communities.

Thanks to the Solicitor General @TeamKerzner for the invite today to connect with he and some of our MPP's (@stcraw @zeeinmilton). It was a great opportunity to discuss issues of importance to our members.
