@IainDickson76 @chilternrailway There are monitors the drivers use for closing the doors and dispatch half way along the platform and at the end of the platform. Anything longer than 4 coaches has to go to the end of the platform to use those monitors, otherwise not all coaches are on the platform.

Question: @chilternrailway Why does the train at Oxford Parkway stop so far away from the stairs? This is possibly the longest (6 carriages) train that you run and everyone has to run up the platform to catch it

@CrossCountryUK Can you confirm the formation of 1703 Birmingham to Edinburgh today please? Journey Check is showing 9 carriages with G to L leading and Realtime Trains is showing 8 carriages with A to F leading. Either way, someone your end is mistaken.

@NeilThompson @CrossCountryUK The Reading to Leeds trains were only running because of engineering works between Leeds and York. Its a standard alteration during Transpennine Route Upgrade work to make capacity for longer distance services to run via Doncaster. @CrossCountryUK Take note for future questions!

Hey @CrossCountryUK why aren’t there any direct Reading to Leeds trains after 25th January? Is this a timing issue or something else?

@GWRHelp Whilst your station staff made a good announcement, the train it was referring to was on a platform where the PA speakers were not working (Bristol TM platforms 5 and 6). This meant most did not hear it, even more so once the train had started arriving.

@tfwrail I've noticed you've replaced the auto announcement voice at Chester. There is one issue however, its so quiet no one can hear it, especially on platforms 4-7. I assume you don't think the voice is awful and its intended to be audible? Please report this for repair!

Ticked off Hubberts Bridge and Swineshead today, involving a walk from Boston to Hubberts Bridge. Almost managing to avoid the rain! Also sampled a refurbished XC 170, for the first time, on the way home - very impressed. Great to see @35mmags on my trip today too!

@joey_wanders As others have said, you don't have to stop at said station on a ticket routed via that station. Westbury is also a special case in that services via the avoiding line are considered to be routed via Westbury.

@joeymandrews That's a regular problem on the Nottingham to Cardiff route, shortage of crews often sees them only run east of Birmingham.

That’s my time in the East Midlands over already… I’ll be in and around the West Midlands for the rest of the day 💎 1V09’s original destination was Cardiff Central, but according to the PIS screens at Nottingham, it’s only going as far as Birmingham New Street? 🤷🏻‍♂️ 🚦 | Nottingham 🏁 | Tamworth 🆔 | XC 1V09 NOT-BHM 🏢 | CrossCountry 🚂 | 170 637 📆 | 22/02/2025

@MagnaAulae @IBLRG @tom_40a That layout would have predated the current standards, there are still many examples which don't comply to current standards too.

@HSTLouis @IBLRG @tom_40a When Lincoln High Street crossing was gated there was no way that the last signal was 25 metres from the closed crossing gates. The front buffers of a train held at the signal were virtually within touching distance of the road.

@IBLRG @tom_40a It's where it is because the current standards say a signal must be at least 25 metres in rear of a level crossing.

Request Stop with a view! ⛰️ 📍Morfa Mawddach. This used to be the junction for the Barmouth to Ruabon line, a victim of the Beeching axe.

@chilternrailway Charging for this is frankly unacceptable. There are plenty of water fountains across the UK rail network and I’ve never, ever seen a paid one. Also, you have a @GreggsOfficial in your station where water can be refilled for free anyway!

@LawrieJohnston1 This headline is really bad, this is referring to the Welsh rovers, all of which have just had a price hike upto 50%, nothing in England. (They'll be available after the Summer too)

@HSTLouis Did many an All Line Rover or Heart of England Rover back in the day when loco hauled travel was in its prime. Think the All Line rover ought to continue as an all year thing not summer seasonal.

@busandtrainpage Was stood on platform 5 waiting (an unbearably long time, over 15 minutes for some reason) for Thameslink. 6T was on platform 5, 4T was on platform 6.

Can any clever soul tell me what the SX stop board means? Not sure I've ever seen that before. I'm guessing trains too long for the platform but that really is a guess.
