Last week, Estonia took part in #RSAC2026 in San Francisco, exploring how to strengthen global cyber capacity amid rapidly evolving security landscape. At the ACNL meeting, Estonia underscored the importance of robust public–private partnerships, deeper cross‑border cooperation, and the adoption of emerging technologies to reduce cyber risks to critical infrastructure, enhance overall cyber resilience, and build trust. While on the West Coast, the delegation also met with members of the Estonian tech community in Palo Alto, exchanging insights on innovation, talent, and future collaboration.

Today, 🇮🇪 + @UNIDIR were pleased to lead an event on subsea cables as critical infrastructure at @UN HQ. @IrelandAmbUN set out Ireland’s efforts to safeguard the subsea domain in our national maritime security strategy. We thank the expert panel that addressed the challenges and efforts to build resilience of this essential infrastructure.

Last week, Estonia’s 🇪🇪 Ambassador-at-Large for Cyber Diplomacy, Helen Popp, took part in #KICRF2026. Ukraine 🇺🇦 continues to face relentless cyberattacks from Russia, aimed at disrupting critical infrastructure, stealing sensitive information, and undermining daily life. In response, Ukraine has accumulated hard‑earned expertise in cyber resilience, offering lessons that Europe can learn from as it strengthens its own cyber defence posture. Protecting critical infrastructure, countering hybrid threats, and building digital resilience are no longer optional components of national security. They require dedicated strategies, sustained investment, and close international cooperation.

The UN Convention against Cybercrime, successfully concluded yesterday, will support the global fight against cybercrime, such as child sexual abuse. Its unprecedented human rights safeguards promote the trust needed for int'l cooperation & are a benchmark for future instruments.
