À une époque marquée par la rivalité entre les grandes puissances et des divisions croissantes, nous nous efforçons de renforcer la paix, la sécurité et la stabilité dans le monde.

For the first time, a non-European nation has taken part in the European Political Community Summit. It was an honour to represent Canada in Yerevan, Armenia. In an era of great power rivalry and increasing division, we’re focused on creating more peace, security, and stability in the world.

Our government is building strong relationships with countries around the world to advance peace, security, trade, and shared economic prosperity. Glad to join @YasirNaqviCDN, @MonaFortier, and 20 Women Heads of Mission in Ottawa for a luncheon hosted by @MYHCOttawa.

Source de fierté pour l’Arménie, la tenue du sommet de la Communauté politique européenne à Erevan vient aussi reconnaître le chemin parcouru. Je suis heureuse que notre pays ait œuvré sans relâche à ce resserrement des liens entre l’Europe et l’Arménie.

On 5 May, marking the 77th anniversary of @coe, #Armenia joins the CoE family in celebrating peace, unity & shared values. We reaffirm our commitment to democracy, human rights & the rule of law, & continued cooperation with #CoE for reforms, resilience & lasting peace.

Today marks the first official visit to Armenia by a Canadian Prime Minister in nearly a decade. In Yerevan, I met with Prime Minister @NikolPashinyan to thank him for hosting this year’s Summit, and talk about how we can strengthen the Canada-Armenia partnership.

In Yerevan, Minister Anand met with her Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan. They discussed ensuring long-term stability in the South Caucasus and ways to grow trade, attract investment, and create new opportunities in both countries.

📍 Just arrived in Yerevan for two important meetings. Tomorrow, Europe will gather in Armenia for the 8th Summit of the European Political Community. Leaders from across the continent, with Canada as a guest, will discuss how to cooperate to strengthen security and collective resilience.   On Tuesday, we will have the first ever EU-Armenia summit — a key milestone in the deepening of our bilateral cooperation and commitment to deliver tangible benefits for our citizens and businesses.

This morning, alongside Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, @VahanKostanyan, I visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan, Armenia. A moment to pay tribute, honour and remember.
