@RJHarle @pedalsandgears Not 100% but as a rule of thumb, if a less experienced cyclist comes in, it’s likely to be too low. More experienced or athletic people, too high Athletes like the feeling of extension, but it ruins the smoothness

If your saddle is too high, you’ll automatically rock more to reach the bottom of the pedal stroke Getting the correct saddle height makes you more stable, comfortable and faster Hear the change in tone of the trainer, it becomes higher pitched and smoother #cycling #bikefit

@beau_jangle21 I had my coil replaced. They said it would be under anaesthetic block. They didn’t mention this was only entrance to cervix. It took over an hour (I have complications) and was the most painful thing I’ve experienced

@pedalsandgears You see their hips rocking like mad and think: ooo, your back is going to hurt after 15 mins of that Welcome to my life while out cycling! 🚴 Might start being more brave and mentioning it to people. Told a mum to lower hers at drop off the other day

@HackneyBikeFit I always want to tell people when I can see their seat is too high, but I often don't because they can be a bit funny about it. Despite me clearly being a competent rider, with all the gear and the speed to match, or maybe that's part of their issue?

@RJKing14 @oldenoughtosay Our birth rate isn’t doing great in the UK and our mat leave is a lot better Minimum by law is 90% pay for 6 weeks then the lower of 90% or £184/$233 for up to 33 weeks You can take up to 52 weeks off, during which time your job is protected and you build up holiday pay

@oldenoughtosay Seriously, that’s part of the reason I never had kids. We had FMLA, which means they couldn’t fire you for 12 weeks (so nice 🙄), but it’s unpaid unless you drain any paid leave and combine that with unpaid. They wonder why the birth rate plummeted.

THREAD. One of the moments that changed my career was my first day as a public defender in D.C.'s juvenile court. When I walked into the courtroom, which is closed to the public, all the little children were fully shackled in metal chains on their wrists, waists, and feet.

@EdConwaySky My mother in law was an archivist at the Royal Society. When they were renovating the archives, a treasure trove of scientific history was stored in a Cheshire salt mine. I think they still keep some off site storage there

Since the temperature down here is more or less constant and humidity is low (thanks to the salt), some of the old caverns here have been given over for storage. Priceless works of art and archives are stored here beneath the ground, not far from the machinery... 8/14

It’s just the person who commissioned this went on price, but they’re not a cyclist As someone pointed out, these are rated for outside use, they’re just flimsy

@DrVxD @StokeyUpdates @Hackneycyclist @hackney_cycling There is a definite need for more cycle parking at the centre. This is a standard day, around 100 bikes locked up outside. There’s a rack of 10 Sheffield stands just behind me too, also usually full, plus another row of bikes to the right It’s Hackney, we cycle

@GeorginaWilcox @StokeyUpdates @Hackneycyclist @hackney_cycling @cyclehoop Maybe within a gated development or locked cage. It’s weather proof but that doesn’t mean it’s solid enough for a high bike theft area I wouldn’t lock my bike to just this
