In Catholicism you are going to go to hell if you skip a Sunday mass without a really good reason. It’s one of the few things officially identified as a “mortal sin” which means you will go to Hell if you die in that state.

In Zeiten zunehmenden rechten Hasses gegen Menschen mit queerer Identität ist die Verankerung des Diskriminierungsverbots im Grundgesetz ein absolutes Muss. Es darf aber nur für Queere gelten, die sich selbst als „queer“ bezeichnen, nicht aber für die „Gay, not queer“-Fraktion. Rechten Hetzenden steht der Schutz des Grundgesetzes nicht zu.

This kind of fanaticism, which is infecting my own Church community, is what is actively harming society. Instead of discourse, reactionaries resort to demonization. Demonizing is dehumanizing and it should be condemned by the Church.

Die Konsequenz aus der Erfahrung der Weimarer Verhältnisse ist die Fünfprozenthürde. Das haben Generationen von BRD-Schülern so gelernt und so steht es immer noch bei der Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung. Aber das gilt alles nicht mehr, seit die SPD rauszufliegen droht.
