When Jewish volunteer ambulance services (which serve all communities) are attacked simply because they are Jewish, these are acts of antisemitism & should be condemned by anyone who considers themselves an anti-racist. We should be consistent in calling out all forms of racism.

You must be seriously morally defunct if you attack ambulances that assist Jewish and non-Jewish communities. We who work on tackling anti-Muslim hate are sickened by the continuous, long term and normalised antisemitism that has been going on for decades. Enough. This is just another nudging of the Overton window “Can we push a trans woman out of a job she is imminently qualified for, simply because she is trans” Keep in mind she is doing middle management level work. She would not be the “face” of the agency, if it weren’t for the daily mail trying to generate outrage It would be unheard of for any charity to restrict the role she has to people who’ve suffered from the condition. Except of course, for the crime of being a trans woman

the British solution to anti-social behavior is to make teenagers feel like they’re being harassed and persecuted by the state whenever they’re in public, something that can only result in them becoming well-behaved citizens.

It's day one of a police dispersal zone aimed at cracking down on anti-social behaviour in Glasgow city centre. St Vincent Place, Glasgow Central, St Enoch Square and Union Street will all be included in the temporary zone. Officers will be able to order groups of two or more away from an area. They'll then banned from returning for 24 hours. Superintendent Jackie Dunbar told us how more police on the ground will benefit the city centre.

This is giving me new Overground Line vibes (apart from Athelstan). The traditionalist approach would be to name these place names after geographical features, surely? -thorpe means a secondary settlement. So if you built a new town along the river Aire, just outside Leeds, for example, call it Airethorpe or whatever.
