As a college student I got to be a part of Power Hour. As a grad student I had a community that supported me starting another Power Hour. These opportunities to connect and build each other are what it’s all about.

The Neurocritical Care Society recommends all patients with ICH on warfarin with INR >1.3 receive IV vit K & prothrombin complex concentrate to reduce the likelihood of hematoma expansion. No specific time goals exist for this therapeutic intervention. buff.ly/3ugOkys

There’s nothing like handling 165 bed ED as the only pharmacist and having a pediatric anesthesiology provider be the most unprofessional and worst patient advocate *in front of the family* and then joke about how he can’t wait to see the complaint filed against him

@HaleyBurhans We have 24 hr coverage and work 10s!
6 FTEs. 2 designated nights that do 7on/7off. 3 “clinical RPh” that each work 4 shifts/week. And our “specialist”/coordinator fills the other 2 shifts then admin for rest of week.

#medtwitter asking for help! We are currently a 24/7 emergency medicine pharmacy service working 8-hour shifts and every 3rd weekend. Two weeks out of each month we don’t get consecutive days off.
Has anyone successfully switched from 8- to 10- hour shifts? Advice?

Our thoughts so far:
✅ decreased burnout
✅ better patient care through continuity of shift
✅ better sick coverage for callouts

When the trauma surgeon looks right through you, dismisses your POCUS (that shows a PTX), interrupts your bedside teaching to get the supine CXR, and then won’t even acknowledge you as an attending.
It’s like that sometimes… #WomenInMedicine
