@HendrickD82 @Corballyred We just gave Grav a big fat 5 year deal. You know he’s going to be starting under this manager. If we get 2 wingers then Wirtz will play 10 which means that midfield 2 will be Grav + new DM. He won’t learn his lesson and he’ll put Dom at RB because he’ll want to invert the RB OOP

@Corballyred We need a massive investment in defense and defensive midfield John. Right back, a CB to replace Ibou, DM and CM all much more important than any second winger.

If we do sign Barcola and Diomande, which is very unlikely, there will need to be a conversation had about Dom and whether there's a place in the team for him other than right back.

@kevinhatchard Funny that people think it’s just about enery and intensity. His tactical approach OOP is flawed and it’s ongoing for 16 months. He won’t change his +1 approach and he’s married to Ruben Peeters and tactical periodisation methodology. It’s not easy to just change principles.

There comes a point where everyone has to come together ahead of next season. The Brendan Rodgers scenario doesn’t have to happen. Slot has to do his bit to win over doubters by finding a way to inject more energy and intensity into the play, and I’m sure he recognises that #lfc

Arne Slot is sure he will lead Liverpool into the 2026-27 campaign. “I don't decide that alone but I have every reason to believe that I will be Liverpool manager next season.”

@Mide_hayzed @MikeLFC0505 @SophieJovi Are we just making things up? His highest was 14. 22/23. 13 in 20/21 with no CB’s.. Gomez, VVD, Matip all out for the season. Midfielders at CB. Nat and Rhys.. Pep highest loss count is 14. Last season. And please let’s stop comparing those 2 to Slot.

@Hallel10 @MikeLFC0505 @SophieJovi Klopp lost 17 games in a season and he didn’t get this stick. Pep lost 17 games last season and he’s back competing for the league again. I guess those two are limited too or what’s your point?

There’s a strange idea that Slot should just ‘make it work’ regardless of the circumstances. It’s about a few key positions not fully matching what the system needs, which then affects how the whole team functions. In football, if 2–3 crucial profiles aren’t quite right, it has a knock-on effect everywhere else on the pitch. That’s why ‘just make it work’ isn’t that simple if you understand the game, systems rely on specific roles, spacing, and balance. On top of that, he’s also had to deal with unprecedented circumstances and a disrupted pre-season, with no one really knowing the full psychological impact that’s had on the players. Look at City last season. A well-established team with a world-class manager who’s ingrained his style over years, but take out a few key players through injury or age and they suddenly don’t look the same. Even Pep has to constantly recruit each window to maintain standards, and when replacements don’t immediately fit, levels drop. When key profiles aren’t functioning or aren’t there yet, performance dips even at the very top level. That’s not an excuse, it’s just how elite football works.

@MikeLFC0505 @SophieJovi C’mon sense mate, it’s football match and in PL any team can beat each other. Don’t be delusional, even when we had a better squad teams still beat us. However, I don’t think you read to understand because none of what you typed here relates to what I said.

@SophieJovi This entire explanation just exposes how limited Slot is such that he’s married to one system. The worst type of managers because should they not have certain profiles the whole thing collapses. Completely unable to plug into a system with available resources

@BosZackLMreds @TomL1ttle_ Won everything by 2020, became a god in the city, adored by everyone. No one would think to sack him in 2020/2021 where we literally had Phillips and Rhys at CB and still came 3rd? Not comparable to Slot = great 7 months that led to a title followed by +12 months of regression.

@Hallel10 @TomL1ttle_ 20/21 regress, 21/22 progress, 22/23 regress, 23/24 progress. By your logic, Klopp should’ve been sacked in 22/23. 2 declines in 2 years, no major titles in 4, missed the UCL. Even in 23/24, we only reached the UEL QF. We win the EPL Regress Sack? Do you agree with this cycle?

All you have seen is regression from the beginning til now, how does that trend suggest that this season is the exception and not the norm
Anfield Sector@AnfieldSector

[🟢] INFO: It's expected that Arne Slot's end-of-season grading will keep him in his current position. Fenway Sports Group are determined to allow their head coach the time and space to prove why April 2025 is the norm and April 2026 is the exception. @BosZackLMreds @TomL1ttle_ Because there was clear progression, some the best football we’ve ever seen and a ridiculous points haul in the 4 years. Slot’s regression started in towards end of Feb. It’s starting to look a lot more like those elements of Klopp did heavy lifting to win #20.

@Hallel10 @TomL1ttle_ Comparing points is illogical as seasons are dynamic. By that logic, Fergie, Mourinho, and Wenger would never win the EPL, while Klopp and Pep would win them all. Klopp only regressed twice in 5 years, yet people only focus on his first 4.

@BosZackLMreds @TomL1ttle_ Would you say the same thing for Pep? Who 4 in a row before a “regression” by his standards, that requires a steady overhaul. Comparable to Klopp. Not to Slot. Also can’t recall Klopp losing 17 in a season. Currently on par for 65 points. Klopp’s lowest is 67.

@TomL1ttle_ If you see five years of progression followed by a dip as an excuse, look at it this way. But, if a squad can downgrade after five years of growth, it’s even riskier for a team only two years in, still mostly made of Klopp’s players. The foundation isn't as solid as you think.

I've been a big fan of Slot since he entered the dugout at Liverpool. He is a thoroughly decent bloke who delivered a Premier League title in front of the fans for the first time in 35 years. Always speaks well and always carries himself with class and dignity, despite the tragedy, the transition and the injuries he has had to manage this season. This is why I have been so vocal against people on this platform this season. Some of the stuff I've seen said about him has been a disgrace, and I have lost a lot of respect for the talking heads I once held in high regard. Criticism is always warranted, and he has deserved his fair share. Still, the personal attacks, the fake outrage about training and man management (completely made up nonsense that has never held up in the real world), and even going as far as to suggest finishing in the top 5 is a fluke ( I could not believe that came out of the mouth of a certain Anfield Index legend). The constant belittling of his achievements has made me switch off to a fair few in the Liverpool Twitter community. I really hope he goes on to deliver a top 4 finish and has us firing on all cylinders next season. There's no one I would rather see lead us than a Premier League-winning manager! x.com/beINSPORTS_EN/…

@HendrickD82 lol it doesn’t even need to be a transition for teams to play through us. There are countless times in games where teams build from the back, we apply the laziest disjointed press and one simple straight ball through the middle they’re running at our backline because of the +1

The South African laws are literally super racist, plain and simple. It’s not complicated: imagine if the law was called “White Empowerment”, instead of “Black Empowerment”! People would have a seizure 😂 South Africa now has more anti-White laws than Apartheid had anti-Black laws. Think about that for a second … The current South African government has objectively implemented Apartheid 2.0. Shame on them.

Slot insists the future is bright - but the reality is that this is a squad in need of more major surgery this summer. Will the Dutchman still be around to lead the next phase of the rebuild? Now they must salvage CL qualification from a troubled season. nytimes.com/athletic/71965…

@SajadIqbalLFC I changed my mind 12 months later as I think MO this season didn’t show enough off the pitch, I don’t really care about on the pitch as it’s his first average season. I’d like him to have spoken more for the club after defeats & not kill the manager publicly.
