🔸 Netanyahu: If Washington and Tehran enter peace talks, we will protect Israel’s interests Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, announced on Monday that even if the United States and Iran enter peace negotiations, Israel will firmly safeguard its vital interests. He emphasized that until a final agreement guaranteeing Israel’s security is reached, airstrikes against Iranian and Hezbollah positions will continue. In a statement, the Israeli Prime Minister clarified that Donald Trump believes a joint agreement with Iran that preserves Israel’s interests is achievable. However, Netanyahu stressed: “Under all circumstances, we will defend our vital interests. Our attacks in Iran and Lebanon to crush missile and nuclear programs and to inflict heavy blows on Hezbollah will continue; as in recent days, we have eliminated two more of the regime’s nuclear scientists.” At the same time as Netanyahu’s remarks, Donald Trump claimed on the social media platform Truth Social that the United States and Iran had held “very good and constructive” talks over the past two days aimed at ending hostilities in the Middle East. Trump expressed hope that these negotiations would lead to a complete and comprehensive resolution. In contrast, the Fars News Agency, citing an informed government source, denied any direct or indirect negotiations with the Trump administration. The source claimed that no communication had taken place between the two sides and described Trump’s statements as a result of his retreat after Iran threatened to target power plants in West Asia.

@Interlocateur I am not a historian but did the research and ai think this is a fact that matters because many primordalist iranian nationalists try to present the Iranian state as primordial but it is a modern construct as a political entity by that name.

If we go back in time, there was no state formally called “Iran.” Political entities in the region were dynastic empires, kingdoms, or regional polities: Medes, Achaemenids, Parthians, Sāsānians, Safavids, Qajars, as well as Kurdish polities like the Ardalan Principality in western Iran, the Shaddadids in parts of Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the Hasanwayhids in the Zagros region. Each had its own ruling house, capital, and political identity. Foreign powers, like the Greeks and Romans, called the region Persia, after the homeland of the Persis people, this exonym became the long-standing name for outsiders. These examples show that political identity in the region was historically tied to dynasties and regional authority rather than a single “Iranian” state, with “Iran” itself referring more to a cultural-geographical concept than to a formal political entity. *The map is simplified; borders are illustrative, not precise. #Iran #Kurdistan #Balochistan #Iranwar #HistoryMatters #LearnHistory #HistoryFacts #DidYouKnow #HistoryEducation #Rojhelat

The article from The @Jerusalem_Post by @Halmatkurd explores two primary frameworks for understanding #Iran's strategic behavior as the conflict between Iran, Israel, and the United States intensifies. The first paradigm, "ideological resistance," is rooted in Shia theology and historical defiance, suggesting that the regime views its struggle as an existential holy duty and is willing to endure extreme military degradation to maintain its revolutionary legitimacy. This mindset is reflected in Iran's continued use of proxies, drones, and missile strikes despite heavy damage to its own infrastructure, as backing down would undermine the very ideological ethos that sustains the regime's regional hegemony. The second paradigm, "survivalist pragmatism," suggests that despite its fiery rhetoric, the Iranian leadership is capable of tactical retreats and compromise when its grip on power is directly threatened. The author notes that internal factors, such as potential unrest during the Newroz holiday or the emergence of leadership factionalism, could force Tehran to prioritize regime survival over ideological purity. Ultimately, the article argues that the future of the conflict depends on which of these two forces—unyielding defiance or the necessity of self-preservation—guides the regime of Islamic Republic’s next moves in the face of sustained military and internal pressure.

According to a U.S. intelligence report, assembled prior to the anti-government protests in early January, which was shown to President Donald J. Trump a week before the start of the Iran War, Reza Pahlavi, the Exiled Crown Prince of Iran, they concluded lacked a sufficient network inside the country to lead an effective overthrow of the Islamic Republic. “They never took him that seriously,” Vali Nasr, a Professor at Johns Hopkins, said of the Trump Administration. “There’s a difference between having an organization on the ground versus just having people who like you. If you’re going to help change a regime, you have to have a ground game.” Trump and his aides began referring to Pahlavi as the “loser prince,” according to The New Yorker.

Statement by the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs Last night, terrorist groups once again carried out an attack, using an explosive drone to target a Peshmerga base in the Chamchamal area. We strongly condemn this assault, which is aimed at undermining the region’s security and stability. These repeated attacks on Peshmerga bases come at a time when the wider region is facing an especially sensitive and complex situation. Once again, we call on the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces to take firm action to stop these unjustified attacks against Peshmerga forces. The AP’s characterization of Newroz as a 'Persian' celebration while reporting on Kurdish festivities in #Afrin in #Syria is a significant editorial oversight. This framing ignores the fact that Newroz (New Day) is a native Kurdish term and a cornerstone of Kurdish national identity, as much Kurdish as it is Persian, both linguistically and historically. Reducing a pan-regional celebration to a single ethnic origin—especially in a conflict zone where Kurdish cultural expression has been systematically suppressed—is not just an inaccuracy; it is a form of cultural erasure. By failing to acknowledge the Kurdish roots of the 'New Day,' the AP inadvertently reinforces a narrative of cultural dominance, effectively misidentifying the very people they are covering. It is as reductive as labeling Christmas an 'English' holiday while covering its observance in Bethlehem. #NewrozPîrozBe #Newroz #Kurdistan apnews.com/article/syria-…

I agree with @Wurmserscribit . The rise of the Haqqani–Mesbah hardline current, its grip over the IRGC, and the elevation of Mojtaba Khamenei all signal a darker turn in Tehran. As pragmatic figures are pushed aside, Iran is shifting from calculation to desperation — moving closer to its Samson Option. @DeptofWar @SecWar @SecRubio @POTUS
David Wurmser@Wurmserscribit

Iran just blew Oman oil storage. It issued a threat to Doha. And they are trying all day to strike Dimona in israel, and we all know what they were targeting. They have drawn blood in Israel tonight. Simply, Iran is now going full Samson option But keep in mind, it means they know it’s the Samson moment. It means they know their days are numbered and they want to tear down everything they can on the way down. Like Hitler ordered Paris detonated (his commanders didn’t follow the order) or in the end said let Berlin be destroyed. Probably the wrong saying for that part of the world, but it’s part the approaching Samson Option moment and part a Hail Mary pass that in the destruction, they hope we will lose nerve. In that vein, I strongly suspect they will lash out at the weak link from which the lost nerves are likeliest to come: Europe itself, such as Rome or Paris. But israel was wounded tonight. It will not back off. Nor do I suspect President Trump would. And the Gulf Arabs are at their last molecule of patience with Iran. So from Muscat to Jerusalem, a consensus to go all the way no holds-barred has emerged. Europe won’t be heard if it loses nerve. Like the Iranian people themselves, the greatest victims, the mood is emerging everywhere to just do whatever it now takes to bring the tyrants down as fast as possible. It often looks darkest before dawn, but one thing is clear; these are acts of despair by a dying gang of tyrants, not the product of confidence or sage strategy.

Here is what most analysts fail to tell you about the Iran- China resource access: In April 2025, Iran launched a domestically engineered monazite processing plant. This facility was the final step in the Resistance Economy, designed to link Iran into a Eurasian supply chain that includes China and Russia while bypassing Western sanctions. Then there is the Hamadan discovery. In 2023, Tehran claimed the discovery of 8.5 million tons of lithium-rich hectorite clay in Hamadan province. If the numbers are accurate, the deposit would rival the "Lithium Triangle" in South America. Western geologists have expressed skepticism regarding the economic viability of the clay, but the geopolitical value was immediate. By positioning itself as a future hub for the battery supply chain, Iran gave Beijing a reason to view the country as more than a sanctioned gas station. The U.S. move against the regime is a direct threat to this resource axis. oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-…. #IranWar#China #USA #Israel #MiddleEast #irgc #hormuz #gulfstates #Iran #rojhelat
