@BillWiIdin If you are salaried (as opposed to hourly) you are paid for the job, not the hours worked. So if you can do the full job, and still have time to start a load of laundry, you have earned full salary, just as much as someone working in office.

If you work from home, you shouldn't get a full salary since you're basically Babysitting your own life on company time. If you have time to start a load of laundry between meetings, you’re technically a part-time employee.

@QueenAnticommie It’s shit like this that makes people upset. You should tip based on the quality of you service, not an expectation of price and as the owner to demand a minimum % is rude. You want them to earn more, pay them more and charge accordingly

Remember me talking about my neighbor's dogs that keep pooping in our yard with zero care from the owner? One of them just chased my 6yo daughter while she was playing outside and bit her arm. 15 minutes before by 9yo daughter's birthday party. I'm not at the urgent care with my six year old and my wife is juggling a birthday party with 8 kids on her own. This is the second child this dog has bitten. We have already contacted animal control and filed a report. Is there anything else I should be doing?

@SilasAnderson @FluentInFinance I would agree that it’s pointless to serve in that short of a time/distsnce. However, it’s just a money saving scheme for the airlines. There is no cheaper fares offered. What benefit is it for the consumer?

@FluentInFinance A 350 mile flight is less than 45 minutes. I don’t know why anyone would worry about this at all. They can hardly serve the plane in the amount of time they have between takeoff and landing. Bring a bottle of water (or your sippy cup) and stop being a baby.

@SydneyLWatson I will agree the medical billing system is messed up! The majority is fees and overhead to cover those who do not pay. What needs to be reviewed is the time you’re actually with a doctor and evaluated vs cost.

Seen a lot of conversation about how predatory the American medical system is. So I will weigh in. I ended up going to the ER about 2 weeks ago for crippling pain. Turned out to be a ruptured ovarian cyst. I was there for MAYBE 4 hours. My bill? $13,500 dollars. Because I'm uninsured (by choice, that shit is a SCAM), the hospital dropped my bill down to $8,100 and some change as an "uninsured" discount. For starters, $13,500 for a 4 hour hospital visit is insane as it is. But the fact the hospital can wipe $5,000 off the bill "just because" should show you how utterly fucked this system is. And to be clear - $8,000 is still an absolutely insane sum of money when all these people did was scan my stomach and give me some pain killers. On my itemized bill, my CT scan was 7k. The iodine they used was $900. Just being in the ER room alone was $2,500. We phoned the hospital to haggle. They dropped the price by $20. Normal people can't survive this shit. I do okay and $8,000 is still an INSANE chunk of money out of my savings. Anyone who argues this isn't a disgusting, predatory system is crazy. And it is even crazier that Americans accept this. And for those of you who argue this is the free market, I need you to be quiet. There can never be a true free market here when government and insurance have their creepy little fingers in this pie. People shouldn't go bankrupt trying to pay medical bills. This has to change.

Every new car in the U.S. will be required by law to have tech that puts constant surveillance on the driver by 2027. AI in your car will determine if you're sober and fit to drive, automatically turning off the vehicle if it determines you're a danger on the road.

We do need a better way of transitioning people off of welfare once they start to come up in life. The way it’s set up now, if you’re busting your butt, but you need help, you won’t get it. But if you’re doing nothing, you get all the help and resources forever. This needs to change.

Hmmmm… maybe these will become the moto or theme for each age group. But no one is going to say… “I can’t wait for my daughter to turn 14 and become a Messenger of Faith!” “Sister Jones, what are the Gatherers of Light doing this Wednesday?” 🤣 sorry, I just don’t see it. These aren’t names that stick. Maybe I’m wrong, but you need a single word and it can’t be overly dramatic. Overly dramatic language, like “Gatherers,” feels awkward in casual conversations. People avoid saying it.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints@Ch_JesusChrist

The First Presidency has announced new age-group names for young women—names that reflect their identity, growth, and purpose. The new age-group names are: • Builders of Faith (young women turning 12 or 13) • Messengers of Hope (young women turning 14 or 15) • Gatherers of Light (young women turning 16 or older) Young Women General President Emily Belle Freeman said the spiritual significance of the names became especially clear to her during a recent visit with young women in Tahiti. “As the girls sang, I was inspired to think of these covenant-keeping young women whose purpose and mission would be to build faith, share hope, and gather and reflect light around the world,” President Freeman said. “My eyes teared up as I realized the Spirit had been leading this process all along, inspiring names of faith, hope, and light that would help God’s daughters live as disciples of Christ and prepare them to enter a lifelong sisterhood of charity—the Relief Society.” Learn more by visiting the link below: newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/young-…

@Rhett_Solger @ClayTravis @JoshMLowe OK, but at the end of the day, they’re getting taxes taken out of the check and they live with less money every two weeks. Any refund they get at the end of the year usually goes to fixing a car, paying off credit cards, or something, it’s not wealth

Happy Tax Day. The top 1% pays 40% of all income taxes, the top 10% pays 72% and the top 25% pays 87% of all income taxes. Meanwhile the bottom 50% pays ZERO income taxes. For all of you actually paying taxes, do you think your tax dollars are being spent well?
