Stadium started off really well until the split the queues into ranked and unranked and nerfed every fun build. They balanced it like ranked and made it overly grinds for casuals to earn rewards.
It should have been 1 queue from the start with new powers and items each season for heroes to keep things fresh.
If they focused on making it a way to attract new players to it rather than trying to pander to those already dedicated to QP or ranked it would have succeeded more imo

I haven't been working directly on it for awhile now, but it will always amaze me that this wacky little idea I pitched turned into what it did.

Despite my frustrations with meta builds (Ashe, Freja, Hazard), I think there’s bigger issues that brought player interest down.
Splitting into two queues, people waiting for their mains to be added, and no tutorial to bring new players in are some of my guesses.

Lacroix Redwood and Serenza can be stretched slightly and help boost the Push map pool
Arena and Gogadoro would be great arcade maps for elimination and death match, Wuxing could get 2 more variants and become a regular control map

It has been announced that there are no plans to release new heroes or maps for #Overwatch Stadium Mode going forward. However, support for season balance updates, rank resets, and at least minimal reward updates is planned 🛠️

They announced the end of new heroes in stadium because no one played this mode, but now you see everyone saying they didn't play stadium because their main wasn't in it
Not even 1 hero every 2 season, the bare minimum, this is a joke, players were waiting for their main hero
