I’ll note that Bernie is a good antidote here: he’s totally willing to use the “if anyone builds it everyone dies” Terminator-style fears to gin up support for a data center moratorium and other regulation.
Because he’s a good politician, unlike most leftists.

The reason Amtrak is so expensive is that it was formed as a “for-profit” corporation, even though all other public forms of transportation, especially roads and highways, do not have to seek a profit and instead operate with massive subsidies.

Under the Electoral College, the President is elected by the states and it is the states who choose to run popular elections to select electors. This is actually an integral part of the longevity of the union, because the great compromise ensures that small states are not subsumed by a national policy driven be the population advantage of large states. Remove this framework and why would a state like Wyoming stick around and be dictated to by a government that only represents the coastal enclaves?

🔴 @Delta is cutting in-flight service on 450 daily flights starting May 19, and frequent flyers are NOT happy about it. From that date, any flight under 350 miles in economy will get zero service. Nothing. Not even water. That covers a lot of routes people fly every single week for work. The old system had an express service on flights of 251 to 499 miles, which was coffee, tea, or water. That is now gone entirely for shorter hops. Now, to be fair, there is a flip side. Around 600 daily flights in the 350 to 499 mile range are actually getting upgraded from express to full beverage service. So more people overall will get a proper drink cart. First class keeps full service across the board regardless of distance. #Delta #DeltaAirLines #Aviation
