@Greg_Galligan Dear Ambassador - please take all possible steps to stop the ongoing violence against Kurds in Syria. Kurdish forces have been key partners of the West in fighting extremism and defending regional stability.

All possible steps must be taken to avoid further violence in #Syria. The ceasefire and integration agreement may take time to implement, but dialogue, however hard, is preferable to violence that could cost civilian lives and undermine integration. Restraint is urgently needed.

The thing about being young and healthy and thin and able-bodied is that it makes you think chronic illnesses only happen to other people, and somehow, they must have done something “wrong” to “deserve” being sick. Most doctors/clinicians fit that profile for at least the first half of their careers. And they might be from families, zip codes, even ancestries that also have enjoyed these privileges. This idea of “otherness” of ill-health is not only false but can be harmful. It contributes to patient blaming and dismissal, both can lead to medical gaslighting. To combat this, medical education needs to change its narrative about this otherness of chronic diseases. Curricula and textbooks must seriously investigate their intrinsic and extrinsic biases when including medical “facts.” After all, if most people don’t fit our textbooks, is it the patients or the textbooks that are wrong? And medical schools must find ways to embrace health, body, among other realms of diversity. When “signs and symptoms” stop only happening to “the patients” but could to “all of us,” we can then truly start to listen. 🩵 #AskThePatient

Just finished a shift vaccinating at the Centre on Barton in #HamOnt. Gave 46 doses of #CovidVaccine. Feels like a small thing, but feels good to contribute.

Wife is on dialysis. She's paralyzed and proned now. If she doesn't respond to this She may have an ECMO assessment, but unclear it would be helpful even if circuit is available. They've double-checked code status (DNR given survival stats with COVID+cardiac arrest).
