Been a LONG LONG time (almost a year!) since I swept any NFTs, but I made an exception today and threw in 3e (~$9,000) into grabbing as many cheap Alice Keys of Power as possible. I picked up about 60 of them, focusing on grabbing the discounted rarer NFTs. I already had about 50 of them from the mint and from buying on the secondary market nearly a year ago. WHY would I do something so stupid? Because we all know buying NFTs these days is usually about as good an investment as buying property on the moon. Well, I had a call with @maverick23NFT and looked at @cerebro_hq's new product @swaydotfun, which is pioneering something new in the prediction market space called 'Narrative Markets' The team has pivoted from building an AI portfolio UI (the original Cerebro product) into something far more interesting...and investable right now: "Narrative Markets" And I have to say, I really like what I saw, though I have not yet tried the product. I'm getting access to the beta next week and will be trying it out. If the @cerebro_hq team nails the upcoming beta, I think it's going to bring a new angle to the prediction market space, one that combines socialfi and predictfi and might be a lot of fun, without the heavy shortcomings of pure socialfi projects. And as the first to launch this product, @cerebro_hq might be able to grab a lot of market share if it works right. I also think this is exactly the kind of exciting new product that would attract some strong investor attention, provided they nail the beta and showcase something that becomes the new prediction toy for threadoors. NFT HOLDERS = SEED INVESTORS? The closest you can get to investing in the 'seed' of what's being built is via the NFTs (as I see it). The bet here is that these NFTs will receive a significant token airdrop or a stake in the company. Keep in mind the team raised ~2M USD from the NFT mint. So the team was funded through the NFT mint, and I believe they will treat NFT holders as seed investors when it comes time to drop a token. Or integrate some kind of revenue sharing. Also, not a bad candidate for the likes of the recent @MetaLeX_Labs equity-to-token conversion if they offered an NFT for equity trade in the future. Or a token to an equity deal. This is just my own musing and NOTHING from the team, though. So I doubled my NFT position right after seeing the pivot to a new, more exciting product: building the right product for the right market with the right narrative tailwinds. I'll post my thread on @swaydotfun with what I think of the idea, and how it fits into my investment thesis, which is to "invest in brand-new prediction market categories with unique distribution channels."
