This is a building in Iran university of science and technology (IUST) that was targeted today in Tehran. This university -one of the leading engineering universities of Iran- is where I got my BSc and MSc degree in engineering years ago. This aggression is all about Iran gaining power via science. You can not stop this nation. The war will boost Iranian science and technology.

“Religion is not an opium, it is a scream. It is not a lullaby sung to the oppressed so they sleep peacefully in their chains. It is the shout of the enslaved man who has suddenly discovered his chains and is reaching for his dignity” Ali Shariati, Religion vs. Religion

This article caught my eye today. "The ISLAMIC Roots Of Science Fiction." "You probably already knew that Islam was having a scientific golden age during Europe’s middle ages, and making tons of scientific and medical discoveries. (Which is why we use words like 'algebra.') But you might not know that some of the earliest proto-science fiction came from the Islamic world." Article continues here: gizmodo.com/the-islamic-ro…

This attack will have a huge emotional impact on Iranians. It will stiffen their resolve to resist. What clearer proof that this is a war on the country and on its people than attacking universities and schools, the human capital infrastructure.

I am saying this as an Afghan: the “Afghanistan is the graveyard of empires” narrative is shallow. Afghanistan has been the graveyard of its own people. Almost every major empire has conquered and ruled it, and in every war far more Afghans have died than foreign invaders.

@PMScivilservant Sir, how has the obsessive pursuit of the aspirants buried merit, rule of law and service delivery? Can we blame their obsession for the rotten state of affairs around us?

Seven dogs stolen from their owners have gone viral after escaping from an illegal transport truck and making their way home. They traveled around 17 km together, led by a corgi across highways and fields, now safely back with their respective owners..🐶🐾🥺❤️
