yesterday i put claude code on a VPS and then locked it down like rob here so i could code from my phone securely on some of my projects i was so damn excited about it, finally i could not bring my laptop with me everywhere but so far its been awful and not fun. cant copy paste things from a terminal on phone. images dont paste. the lines im reading keep shifting as new info comes on screen. i have to be a caveman and ls/cd in ubuntu from a phone so now i will come up with my own solution instead or ill rig up some always on device to claude remote control and see if i can finally draft support tickets and resolve from my phone or ipad later today without it taking 10x longer than normal from my pc the lesson here for me is that my initial thoughts were right, coding on a phone is not very fun! but i think it would be solved if i can use claude app on all places and have it synced, that would be the ideal. and all of it is synced based on ONE core device (my docked mac)

Introducing Claude Opus 5. It's a thoughtful and proactive model that comes close to the frontier intelligence of Fable 5 at half the price.

In Jan, Anthropic's ARR was less than HALF of OpenAI. $10.2B vs $21.4B. seven months later: $74.1B vs $41.3B. nearly double. the fastest lead change in software history.

Do you already have a good system in place to do this workflow? Meaning: - Smart model plans - „cheap“ model implements - smart model reviews and gives corrections - cheap model adapts And so forth I am still pretty much copying things from one window to another and need to supervise this process.

maybe this is controversial, but i believe what Cursor shipped here is a wrong solution to routing intelligence more generally, any attempt to do model routing at request level, while may yield some small gains, is fundamentally flawed and doomed to fail here's why - the complexity of a task only reveals itself when you start working on it. this is the same reason why we humans are often wrong when asked to give cost estimates upfront the correct solution is have a smart model (often a tech lead in human teams) do some planning and understanding, and hand over the implementation to another agent with appropriate level of intelligence and reasoning effort when the task is delegated to a less intelligent model, the smarter model also needs to continuously monitor the execution and examine outcomes to ensure things are on the right track this is a system that proved to work really well in firstmate and helped me save a lot of tokens. routing should work at the boundary between agents and subagents, not per each LLM request

I am now a fan of AI dev, took a long time but I find them very capable now. I still read a lot of code, write a lot of code, but I am much more of a fan now. The thing I am liking a lot right now is structure refactoring. I want to change an entire way i am doing something. I can explore so many different styles and come to the conclusion of the one i like the best

@davep Some questions: - when is it available for single users? - does it replace auto? - does it work with BYOK like Auto? Because that would be huge.

We briefly went insane and decided every software engineer should also become an expert in model benchmarks, thinking levels, and cache hit rates. Cursor Router is out today. It picks the model for each task based on measured quality against cost. Fable 5 level performance for 60% less.

Is there a law in modern cinema that all heroes now have to be old, bitter, self-doubting and broken? (Or is that just because many boomer are old, bitter, self-doubting and broken?) (Or because we can't have male heroes any more?)

We had a team of agents rebuild SQLite from its 835-page manual. It created a replica in Rust which passed 100% of a held-out test suite. Interestingly, cost varied 15x depending on which model mix we used.

Was very cool to hear about the reasons people love Sol. We're doing the promotion again, except this time for ChatGPT Work: Tweet what you love about ChatGPT Work, claim $100 in free credits, get more work done. First 10k get the free tokens: share-chatgpt-work.openai.chatgpt.site
Tibo@thsottiaux

Or… what if we gave you $100 in Codex credits if you tell us what you love about GPT-5.6 Sol or why you switched? Tweet it, claim your gift, enjoy more usage. First 10k get the free tokens! switch-to-codex.openai.chatgpt.site

@thsottiaux I reported a bug where I can’t see chats on my phone that I started on my computer. Commonality was that they contained no message, only an attachment or a prompt as text.

@lol_supreme1 @claudeai It’s the third option, I was joking by a) hinting at Fable as the costliest model at current API prices. And b) usage limit are different, but those get removed for most users. The 100$ at API will therefore not last very long. You’re welcome.

@HarmAlhusen @claudeai Idk if your prompts are garbage or mine are exceptionally good, but we have a modular monolith app and i can use fable in plan mode for 2-3 hours if i keep fable creating the plan and opus or sonnet implement the code.

Beginning July 20, Claude Fable 5 will be included in all Max and Team Premium plans, at 50% of limits. Pro and Team Standard users will continue to have access to Fable via usage credits, and will receive a one-time $100 credit. Demand for Fable has been challenging to predict, which is why we rolled it out to subscription plans in stages, extending access several times as we secured additional capacity.
