Notice he refers to God as a single “who” But then talks about 3 who’s that are God. You can’t have 3 “who’s” be 1 “who” This is a contradiction.
Reformed Rocket ✝️@NiceanRick

@ThoughtfulSaint The Bible says God is one God, singularly, one. Numerically, one God. And there is only one (numerically) God who exists, period. Not many, not other lesser gods. The Bible calls those idols. The one God subsisting in three persons (not three things or three beings!)../1

Why is Anushka Sharma wearing Pakistani attire instead of a Saree (which Indians claim as their own, but isn't) or Western clothing? It’s because the grace of this look is just on another level. ✨🇵🇰

His name was Arif Mohammad Khan. He was 36 years old. A Cabinet Minister in Rajiv Gandhi’s government. In 1985, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of Shah Bano, a 73-year-old Muslim woman from Indore who had been divorced after 43 years of marriage. Her husband paid her a small sum under Muslim personal law and claimed his obligation was complete. The Supreme Court disagreed. It said Section 125 of the Criminal Procedure Code applied to every Indian citizen, regardless of religion. Shah Bano was entitled to maintenance. Arif Mohammad Khan stood up in Parliament and defended the judgment. He said the law must protect every Indian woman without exception. It became one of the most powerful speeches heard in Parliament that decade. Then the government reversed its position. Facing pressure from orthodox religious leaders, Rajiv Gandhi’s government passed the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Divorce) Act, 1986. It effectively nullified the Supreme Court ruling. Shah Bano would no longer receive maintenance under Section 125. Arif Mohammad Khan refused to support the bill. He resigned from the Cabinet. His political career collapsed. He spent years out of power. Shah Bano later withdrew her claim under community pressure. She died in 1992 without ever receiving her maintenance. The principle overturned in 1986 was effectively restored decades later through later Supreme Court judgments, including the Triple Talaq verdict of 2017. Thirty-one years later. Arif Mohammad Khan would later become the Governor of Kerala. He once said: “I did what my conscience told me. I have no regrets.” His party called it a mistake. History did not. Follow for stories India deserves to remember.

Sadly the Maoist guy blocked me. Anyways, that's why I'll have to answer you here. New Age is mostly idealism, because it says "I am everything" and goes into all kinds of manifestation theory, most of which just does not work in reality. They abstract the "I", the "mind", which for them becomes the selfsame principle, and everything else is just "in your head" etc. Whenever humans actually want to accomplish something, they will soon find out they have to care about things outside of themselves, and cannot "think" them away. However, unconscious is not that simple, because in a sense, materialism does believe that matter is that which is not-yet-grasped in the mind. There is always something new developing, which you only begin to understand. We might have an idea, but what we do with the idea is always richer than what we already know. This is why Marx said "They don't know it, but they do it." or "Men make history, but not as they please." So in this sense the unconscious can be interpreted in a materialist way too. But the New Age people do not do that correctly. Someone who perhaps did it was Jaques Lacan, but I am still learning about him so I don't know for sure.

@BigFritz1917 @generic_007 So If a person believes in the subconscious mind new age theory, that everything emanates from the subconscious, it build everything, he is an idealist. I am a materialist because I say that the mind is conditioned by matter, I get drunk I lose my mind. Matter influences it.

Not really. Buddhism is much more than that, it's a folk tradition and interpretation of history. You could have an idealist or a materialist reading of it. Mao critiques buddhist ideas, but he also praises them. To put it easily: idealism is believing that a principle is in itself, that it is not stemming from an interaction. (It's called idealism because Plato etc. believed that ideas work like that, and western philosophy wanted to find the absolute idea which would be in itself, "perfect" - materialists also believe in ideas, but they say any idieal principle cannot be in itself) materialism says that everything is an interaction, everything emerged under certain conditions and will break/develop when they disappear. Hence all movement and immanent contradictions. (You can believe everything is "matter", made of atoms, but still be an idealist (Marx and Engels called this metaphysical idealism, an incomplete materialism) WHY? because you can understand "matter" to be one logical self-same principle, a substance, instead of something only being produced and revealed through interaction, an essence) Materialism is in that sense the same as dialectics (immanent contradiction and development through interaction, dialogue) Newton was an incomplete materialist, Hegel was an incomplete dialectician -> dialectical materialism is true materialism and true dialectics. That's why to say spirit triumphs over matter is not always idealist. It depends on what you mean. Gorki said it to mean that the human will can push yourself and your body to unexpected lengths, that we should not have a fixwd selfsame idea of what a human body "can do", but that we can always push ourselves and provoke interactions too discover new realms of possibilities in practice. So in that sense he is precisely materialist here.
