BREAKING: The Supreme Court has just made a massive ruling on YOUR pension money.
Attorney General Dorcas Oduor and 3 others LOST the case while defending the government’s position.
For years, the government treated pension money deducted from workers’ salaries as if it were public money.
That is why pension schemes faced endless bureaucracy, procurement rules, delays, and costly approvals before investing your savings.
The Association of Retirement Benefits Schemes challenged this in court.
They lost in the High Court.
Lost again in the Court of Appeal.
But on 15th May 2026, the Supreme Court finally ruled in their favour.
The court declared that pension schemes sponsored by public entities and state corporations are PRIVATE TRUSTS, not government money.
Meaning?
Your pension is YOUR money.
Not the government’s.
Trustees can now invest faster, avoid unnecessary procurement bureaucracy, and potentially grow retirement savings better for millions of Kenyans.
This is one of the biggest financial rulings most wananchi have never heard about.

I know many will disagree with me on this, but hear me out.
Safaricom under Bob Collymore felt different.
It felt simpler, more innovative, and more customer-focused.
When Bob was in charge, many Kenyans felt proud of what Safaricom was becoming.
But ever since he passed, something seems to have shifted.
The decisions feel less connected to customers, and products like OneApp only deepen that feeling.
Maybe I’m wrong.
But I can’t be the only one who feels Safaricom lost part of its soul after Bob.

This morning, I signed the cascaded FY 2025/26 performance contracts with the Chairpersons of the Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAs) under my Ministry.
During the ceremony, I reminded the teams that signing of performance contracts is not merely a ritual, but a serious commitment in the execution of our individual and collective mandate in serving Kenyans.
I urged the Chairpersons and CEOs/MDs of the SIX Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) to deliver citizen-centric services as enshrined in the Values and Principles of Public Service.
Principal Secretaries Kello Harsama (ASALs and Regional Development and Hon. Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim (National Government Coordination) were present.

@DrMercyKorir @Safaricom_Care @SafaricomPLC What's so hard for you to pay a visit to a safaricom shop and get an unblurred statement? Rules are rules
English

Hey @Safaricom_Care @SafaricomPLC what’s the point of sending me my MPESA statement with phone numbers redacted?! 😳 How is it useful?
The document is password protected, a unique code. Even banks don’t redact anything in the statements they send us….
