@Chandler_Rome @rodneywooten12 @SportsTalk790 it’s gonna blow your mind when you realize that being healthy enough to hit a baseball at full exertion in spring doesnt create addition risk on your finger by hitting the same ball in reg season. But practice physicality in NBA/NFL is nowhere near same as game physicality

@rodneywooten12 @SportsTalk790 it’s gonna blow your mind when you realize there are injured football and basketball players that routinely participate in practice during the week and then aren’t able to play in that week’s game.
English

Reading between the lines, Jeremy Peña has progressed enough not to need a full 10 days on the injured list, but is not ready to play in a major-league game yet.

Jeremy Peña is in Sugar Land this morning taking live at-bats, a team spokesman said.

@JohnnyGiunta_ you can't be taking levsources seriously after his cosplaying an insider last offseason

Leo Jimenez has generated some of the most ludicrous insane takes I have ever seen on this app
Lev@Levbaseball
He’s gonna go and be an all star somewhere
English

@JohnnyGiunta_ not personally advocating for a cap, they can tweak system to make it more competitive without one, just dont think any fan views it in the lens of owners saving money, thats disingenuous. Also NBA is so unique in that only teams with a true superstar (top 5ish player) can win

Tired: I prefer the actual baseball players to make more money
Wired: I prefer the billionaire owners make more money

MLB players when they get paid 30 million instead of an absurd 60 million

@peine_joe @SamulskiNYC looked at '25 expected stats as u asked, unclear how this helps Zebbys case. <20th percentile in both xBA/xERA. Zebby also sitting 1.5mph below on 4-seam, and under 100 on stuff+, so again, this was an easy decision and merited by Minnesota

English

@Harpp29 @SamulskiNYC Look at the expected stats and get back to me. Zebby has shown the stuff and the control to be a frontline arm. Abel has not. Excited to see what happens now though!
English

Mick Abel becomes a priority target in drafts this weekend, and kudos to you if you had faith and already drafted shares of him before he's won the job.
Rotoworld Baseball@rotoworld_bb
Matthews sent to AAA, Mick Abel likely in rotation dlvr.it/TRcBTG
English

@peine_joe @SamulskiNYC I would imagine minnesota is basing this off more than just a few spring innings, but clearly you have a hard on for zebby. Not knocking him, its not like he dominated in his 2025 stint to be some untouchable incumbent. Meritocracy should be cheered not shamed.
English

@Harpp29 @SamulskiNYC You’re comical. As if a few spring training innings actually make a difference when looking at a pitchers entire career. Matthews has a front line starters upside, Abel has the floor of a high school coach and the upside of SP5 innings eater. Before 3 weeks ago he was undrafted.
English

@peine_joe @SamulskiNYC i mean its pretty debateable given his own team had an open competition and chose abel. wasnt like there was service time logic in their decision either. Saying its not debateable is comical
English

@SamulskiNYC We will see! Zebby is the better pitcher though, not a debatable point I don't think
English

@Mike_Kurland i agree, but he wasnt even a top 100 OF last year, and he's going top 40 in main events, seems like a total fade to me
English

@Harpp29 they did this to him last year too. Batted him at the top all spring just to land middle to bottom 3rd of the order early on.
English

This is the #Nationals lineup vs LHP. Although it would be nice to see Luis Garcia get a shot, it is hard to bank on it. It is still worth monitoring in case he actually does get a real shot at full-time playing time.
Nunez moving up and Abrams moving down vs LHP could stick initally.
Not sure I buy Jacob Young batting 3rd. Even though he is better vs LHP, he has never been a plus contributor with the bat so I think this is just getting him some reps after he missed time this spring with injury.

English

@PitcherList i know he's not in the league, but @enosarris pronounciation of Andrew Heaney always bugged me. Is it Hay-Nee (as eno says it) or Hee-Nee (as everyone else does)?

Every Israeli general and political leader has spent their career seeing the Iranian regime as an existential threat to their existence - and for good reason. They want this war to go on for a few more months so they finish the job of destroying the regime. Trump also wants this regime to fall or we wouldn’t have started this war. They miscalculated and didn’t plan well enough around Hormuz. From here the calculation is straight forward. If they can keep price of oil $85 or below the war will go on because markets won’t care. If they can’t Trump will end it and we will replay this scenario in 3-5 years.
This is the first purely technological war the world has ever witnessed at scale. Its pretty damn scary when you think about it —
Given where we are, at this point I hope Trump goes the distance and breaks the regime so something positive comes out of this.
Just musing

@boxerscott421 @PitcherListPLV So the homer he gave up was a perfect stuff pitch with a perfect location? I guess bo bichette does hit tough pitches well
English

@Harpp29 @PitcherListPLV This is the equivalent to squaring the ball up in every at bat but hitting it right to a fielder and ending 0-4
