I am fascinated to see how Pebble Beach plays at next year's U.S. Open because with the early-week rain this week, and good weather during tournament days, and manageable (but not no) rough, this course has no chance right now.

@Mike_kim714 How often do you switch in new wedges? And do you rotate bounces based on course conditions that week?

@PsyQo_Kolby @TheGhostofhogan You do mean CLUBS, right? Not COURSES? I like all 3, and not trying to trash them... OLCC did the best they could with that space, but still funky. Grew up at PGC: good not great. Waverly has grown on me a little, and is my fave of the 3. All three below Pumpkin and Royal Oaks

Had the privilege of playing with John Cook few yrs back at a club here in Portland. 1. Pure striker 2. Great putter & touch 3. One of the most humble and genuine person I’ve met in the golf industry. Truly. ZERO ego. And if there is someone who has earned the right to have an ego in the golf space it’s him. Great amateur career (his US Am record is unreal) then he continued on professionally and had a very long and successful career on PGAT. He told a great Tiger story about when Johnny Miller asked him and O’Meara on the Wed before the US Open at Pebble “how do you think Tiger will do this week?” was Miller’s question to them behind the 17th green during practice round and Cook said “he’s gonna win by 10-12 shots” and Miller scoffed at the answer- well we all know what happened Tiger won by 15. Cook played a LOT of practice rds with Tiger and he said that week Tiger was so dialed in and with the course conditions the way they were and Tiger’s ability to hit skyrocket irons NOBODY was going to sniff beating him. For a massive golf nerd like me I LOVE stories like that and the insight on the ‘why’ and listening to the knowledge these elite plyrs have gained over the time of playing at the elite level is fantastic to soak up. He answered all my questions & was just a great guy. Golf needs more John Cook’s especially at the elite level because kids look up to these plyrs and how u treat them leaves a lasting impression. I know it ain’t easy to always be getting bugged by helmets like me but when the day comes to leave this earth it’s not about trophies & accumulation of wealth it’s about how you treat others. John Cook is first class not only as a knowledgeable person in golf he’s always first class in how you treat others in life. (and it’s ok he’s a Buckeye 😉).

The market is now up 7 months in a row. The natural question is: what does that mean? Historically, long winning streaks don’t mark the end. They tend to lead to more up months, not fewer. That's what our data shows... Looking at prior instances where the S&P 500 posted 7 consecutive + months: • Forward returns were positive more often than not • 3, 6, and 12-month outcomes skewed higher • Drawdowns were typically shallow, not structural I'd say that strong trends usually persist when: • Volatility is contained (see last posts) • Earnings are holding up (see newsletter) • Liquidity expectations are improving (my posts) That’s the backdrop today.

@Harry_Darling The ACC is a mess. Duke being in just shows you lol. Not one of the top 4 even played each other. NC state beat UVA but didn’t count as ACC game. How can 10-2 teams not be in. Look 2024 canes didn’t deserve it. 2025 does.

Don’t remember last time MIAMI HURRICANES had 0 points heading to 4th quarter. Playoff teams don’t do that. Bama 0 Georgia 21

@_SeanDavid Yeah I agree Miami should be in. Not over Bama tho. If Bama The was 10-2 and didnt play this week, they'd be in. Losing to Georgia after being T2 in SEC should not drop them out. Thats all

@EVG102 @au_trout Having played both a fair amount, I have Chambers as a harder walk than Black. The heart rate you have on 16 tee at Black happens multiple times at Chambers. I think those are my top 2.

What’s the hardest course you’ve ever walked? For me it’s probably Bethpage. Curious to hear other answers

@resirealtor512 @Budgetdog_ I respect Brennan for keeping this constructive, but your original comment deserves the proper credit. Nailed it. I'm sure I could google it, but how would to describe the quantum computer threat? Pretend I'm 6...

@Budgetdog_ I’m mostly kidding. In fact, it would probably make me believe in it more, just like the Epstein stuff. To answer your original question, quantum computing seems to be the biggest threat to bitcoin in the long term.

@danorlovsky7 @inkyjohnson came and spoke at our company sales meeting a handful of years ago. No clue what he charged, but worth every penny. Added bonus that he hung around and chopped it up with us after. Incredible outllook and message on life

@msgbow @ClayTravis I agree, but too much $$ involved in a mini-concert. Apple wouldnt pay for something that casual fans would use as a bathroom break. The football nerd in me would LOVE a live camera in both locker rooms. Never happen for a lot of reasons.

Who would you want for the Super Bowl halftime show that hasn’t done it yet? To me answer is easy: Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen. Both have big song catalogs that most know, both have music that translates to a stadium, both feel like no brainer choices to me.

@JoshPateCFB Overall I really like it. Why not take 2 of BYU/Vandy/NW and put them in the Big 8? Already have "academically minded" schools in conferences (BC, TCU, Rice, etc); plus they wouldnt be a tough add geographically. While we're at it, just add all 4 to the big 8. Sick of ND as Indy

@NoLayingUp A very slick set of shot glasses and a matching birdie flask for my bag... never told my uncle that I went sober a month ago. My buddies will get good use out of it tho, assuming one of us learns how to putt if/when we hit a GIR.
