I think people are underestimating what Hyperliquid accomplished and what it means for crypto as a whole. At its core, crypto persists because it enables people to make money. That incentive is the engine. What Hyperliquid changes is how and when that money can be made by allowing participants to generate returns regardless of broader market direction. Historically, crypto’s edge over traditional markets was asymmetric upside. Buying Bitcoin or early altcoins offered life changing returns in compressed timeframes, that's why memecoins aren’t going anywhere. We just watched a couple push past $100M, with dozens more reaching $30–50M. That behavior will likely accelerate. But here’s the shift, the more ways crypto participants have to make money onchain, the more that capital stays onchain. When I sell my bag of copper, those proceeds don’t go to a fiat bank account. The same is true for anyone trading tokenized commodities or equities. Capital circulates within the ecosystem instead of leaking out of it. This sets the stage for what could be the largest onboarding event since NFTs. The ability to access global markets directly from your couch using USDC to trade gold, buy Google stock, then rotate that capital straight into a memecoin is a fundamental change. It collapses the boundaries between asset classes while keeping everything native to crypto rails. There is always a bull market somewhere. If all markets become accessible onchain, crypto participants can engage with every one of them. That expands the crypto flywheel continuously. More activity, more capital retention, more experimentation. Welcome to the supercycle.
