Headcanon Time: Cell being surprised at Metal showing up instead of Eggman is because Metal was rebuilt and reprogrammed to work for Bowser cuz Eggman is currently dead in the Death Battle Universe.

@Detzdraws07 Idk, the thing Dead Code and stuff do wrong with "Game" Metal's character is that he isn't OVA Metal. He doesn't think he's the original Sonic, he thinks he's Sonic Perfected and better. The "True Sonic".

@mis0b_ Honestly, 100% agree on the gameplay front. Artificial acceleration has been his thing since CD afterall. Same max speed, but one can artificially jump in and out of it.
But honestly, I'd like a Metal game to be on Eggman's side. We've never really had a chance to do that.

Honestly Boost gameplay would fit Metal Sonic really well. His speed being artificial and instant contrasts Sonic natural, momentum acceleration
Him rebelling against Eggman and going missing would be a good premise for the story, allowing badniks to be enemies in levels

Now is it a good thing that characters like Jia Mu are overshadowed by funny Butter Uncle? Or Rien being interesting but just not nearly as actively engaging as Matthias or both Thumbs?

It’s kinda incredible how things have changed when it comes to Limbus side characters. For the past two Cantos I’d say a lot of the side characters outshine even the main antagonists, even if they do end up dying.
Compare that to Canto 7 or Canto 4 and it’s night and day.
