Even if we assume that India's military strikes against Pakistan last May were perfect and an unblemished success (which they were not), you have to look at the strategic consequences a year later. If you think India emerged stronger than Pakistan in this period, you need help.

You might be cool, but you’ll never be Erik Bonde… a Swedish Major fighting during the Congo Crisis smoking a cigarette after being shot in an ambush while rocking a Lemania TG 195 type of cool. Born in Sweden to gentry (nobility), he inherited the title of “Count.” He started off in the Swedish Army, in the cavalry. He got out in order to persue a life of agriculture but was recalled and reinstated in order to take command of the first Swedish Battalion in Katanga. This timeless photo was taken immediately following an ambush on his elements in which MAJ Bonde was shot multiple times by inferior hostile weapons (mostly outdated muzzle loaders). After the firefight, one of his soldiers ran up and remarked “Sir! You are hit! Your shirt is red!” Bonde shook his head, sighed, took off his shirt, lit a smoke, and looked at him. “Don’t be impertinent. I’m a Count. My blood is blue.” The man makes the watch. Not the other way around! #watcheswinwars
