Today, I joined Fox and Friends Weekend to discuss the Healthy Florida First initiative. In light of FDOH findings of toxins in infant formula, Florida is leading the charge to do independent testing of our food supply to help ensure it’s not tainted with harmful chemicals. We are asking other states to join forces to utilize their assets to test products. Our goal is to hold companies accountable through testing and to provide transparency to the consumer. Ultimately, we would like products to be tested BEFORE they hit the market, which unfortunately, for various reasons, is not happening. We cannot allow food companies to prioritize profits over the health and well-being of the people, even if it’s inadvertent. With support from our federal MAHA partners, now is the time to drive change….and as a cancer survivor and mother, I pray this can hopefully contribute to making Florida, and ultimately America, healthier. The Free State of Florida has set the standard for the rest of the country to follow because we have led with conviction and delivered results. To name just a few: - Delivered nearly $9.7 billion in tax relief - On track to pay down over 50% of state-supported debt - Enacted universal school choice, with approximately 1.4 million Florida students in a school choice program - Doubled the funding for cancer research - Made transformative investments in conservation and Everglades restoration - Enacted the nation’s strictest laws to crack down on illegal immigration, with more 287(g) agreements than any other state - Upheld law and order with our Anti-Riot Law, established harsher penalties for theft and trafficking, and instituted the death penalty for child rapists - Reconstituted the Florida State Guard - Increased pay for first responders, law enforcement, and teachers Results are what matter the most—and more than any other state, Florida has achieved them.
We are giving Florida families the information they need and the ability to choose the best infant formula for their babies. We’re grateful to @SecKennedy and HHS for allowing WIC to cover a wider variety of infant formulas, so that families can more easily make the switch to a non-toxic product for their baby’s well-being.
