The fact that trans women are correctly gendered in the context of sexual assault says everything. In moments when the reality of gendered violence cannot be ignored, their womanhood is suddenly undeniable. That selective acknowledgment is proof in itself: trans women are women.

My eldest brother died today.
He had untreatable lung cancer and was, until yesterday when he tripped over, living independently on a care plan for 'end of life'.
It took 6 hours for an ambulance to arrive and gain access via his neighbour. During that time his phone had died and he seriously injured his arm trying to get up.
The hospital called us at 2am and my sister began the 5 hour journey at daylight. He was unconscious when she arrived and dead by 1pm.
They said he died of pneumonia.
But they had withdrawn all of his COPD breathing medication on admittance and put a DNR on his file. Before any family arrived.
I was obviously expecting him to die imminently. Just not this way.
I don't know how to feel.

Several people inform me that the attacks on me and my family are fine because I have views they dislike.
"Consequences", they say.
But when I ask them what consequences are appropriate for whichever perceived offence I'm accused of, I'm told I'm manipulative,.
When I ask whether it's OK for people to doxx my family and try to hurt them, I'm being unfair. I'm told I'm playing the victim card.
And I never, ever, ever get an answer.
