Original sin is the great equalizer among man and it’s actually the only form of “equality” that truly exists. Yet exactly that concept, the concept that we are all sinners, is rejected by modernity and twisted into the Rousseauian (demonic) lie that “we’re perfect the way we are”, but we simply become corrupted by the systems around us. A society filled with people that believe they have original sin functions much better than a society filled with people who think they’re “born good”. Original sin is not backwards or heavy. Understanding it simply means we acknowledge we are imperfect beings with a tendency towards evil, and we therefore bear a responsibility to do good instead, knowing that there is redemption for all of us through Christ and Christ alone.
