Kinda feeling like my girl Rook was done dirty. Did we really need to lose her for yet another 'look at Vader being powerful' moment among the hundreds of Vader being powerful moments we have in Star Wars?

for rook - no body no death...right? right?
English

@DiegoElorduy @miguelaraizac I’d put force awakens in 8th but pretty close
English

@EndlessFlame55 We are getting a season 2 and maybe from there we could even get a 3rd season so I wouldn’t say this ending directly ties into rebels loll.

Finally seeing why Maul walks with a cane, why one half of his lightsaber is taken from an Inquisitor's blade, and why he knew he couldn't take Vader on alone in Rebels is just so great!
A really great way to fill in the blanks!

Curry Barker wants to push the Sawyer family deeper into nightmare territory with his new ‘TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE.’

I need to emphasize that as much as people tend to mock OG Scooby-Doo for how much it cut corners for animation, it's genuinely so damn funny.

#Maulshadowlord episode 9 and 10 might be 2 of the greatest Star Wars animated television episodes I’ve ever watched.
I can’t even comprehend what I just watched. I need season 2 EXPEDITED NOW!!! The Lucasfilm animation team is one of the BEST to ever do it. BRAVO👏🏻👏🏻

@elliedagoat74 It’s not even nostalgia, the first one just looks better. The 2nd one looks like they couldn’t afford to hire an actual artist.

@Ryans_Ramblings @TheBatHome @HenryHarper523 Nahhh fuck that the colored ones have so much personality

@DoctorCriticMan The apocalypse happened. What an odd direction to take the series.

Pavi is in a fantastic position as an Avatar protagonist.
She’s a “baby”, so there won’t be some contrived romance plot.
She’s young, so we’re learning alongside her about the state of the world.
No avatar lives, so she’ll have to thug it out.
Best of all? NO PAST CHARACTERS!

Casey Lawrence@LeanandCuisine
I hated Korra getting the Avatar cycle deleted until I thought about it a little longer. The next avatar gonna have to get it out the mud with no past life guidance and I’m not gonna lie…that makes for a great story IMO

@bigmoviehouse @Alien_Theory Oh lol. It’s also been on Amazon for a while. It’s kinda funny how the assembly cut is actually cheaper to buy than it is to rent the theatrical version.
English

@Headless_Horror @Alien_Theory People thought the assembly cut that hit last month on HBO Max was "lost" because these people know nothing about physical media, where it had been available since the Alien Quadrilogy DVD set was released in 2003.
English

Joe Dante just screened a never-before-seen assembly cut of ‘GREMLINS’ hidden away for more than 40 years.
The rare 1983 cut runs nearly an hour longer than the theatrical version and includes extended Gremlin chaos, alternate takes, and deleted character material, per @THR.

@CSA0905 You’re right, Godzilla x Kong was a shit movie.
English

Monarch is trying, and some of the character motivations are all over the place, but at least it’s trying. GxK is just a film whose franchise gave up making an engaging story long ago.

Which one did you enjoy more?
English

@RoyalMaj3sty I don’t mind Batman not being in clayface. Clayface likely wouldn’t have gotten a movie as the main villain against Batman so at least this gives him some spotlight + it’s a horror movie so even better. Hopefully they do this with killer croc and man bat
English

-Casting a 60 year old actor as Hal Jordan
-Keeping Batman out of Clayface
-Choosing Cleveland (of all cities) as the location for Metropolis
-Not prioritizing legacy characters to kick off the universe (outside of Superman)
-Those Lord Tech suits

sem passar pano: qual é o maior erro da DC STUDIOS até agora?
English

@Rebel0fReality Honestly most of it I agree with. It’s also so weird to start with Hal old. If it’s true that BTBATB has Damian then we’d be skipping over multiple robins.

Making Creature Commandos:
I don’t necessarily hate the show like others, but it’s so clear that the script was made during the DCEU era and Gunn just couldn’t pull himself to kill off one of his darlings in his transition to DC Studios.
Hiring Tom King:
Hiring King as the comic book guru of the DCU was just a bad choice overall. Aside from Tom just being a despicable human being, he’s also not all that knowledgeable or experienced in adapting the beauty of DC’s characters. He just deconstructs them to be vessels for his guilt over being a war criminal.
Costume Philosophy:
While each movie and show is its own project with its own visionary, there does seem to be a consistency so far in how they handle costumes and I strongly dislike it so far with few exceptions. This need to make everyone’s costume in a world of gods and myths look like work uniforms with thick panel lines and folds doesn’t feel right for the DC universe.
Announcing Projects Before Ready:
While I understand and fully support Gunn’s decision to wait until a script is finished before starting production, I think he should also apply this to when it is appropriate to announce a film. There were like 10 things announced in that slate reveal, and only 5 of them seem to be actually happening. They should wait for a script to be greenlit before they announce it.
Batman:
Everything surrounding Batman right now sounds like a mess. A character who has historically been handled by passionate competent filmmakers now being given the keys to someone who rather work on something else, with a writer who chose to write a script for Fast and Furious first.
Making Hal Jordan Old:
I haven’t seen Lanterns yet so I could be wrong, but making Hal an old man with pre established history robs this universe of so many great stories and character dynamics.
Setting it in modern day:
Just a personal opinion. I like DC more when it’s presented as a period piece. It gives the universe a more distinct identity.
Casting Frank Grillo as Rick Flag:
I don’t dislike Rick Flag like most in terms of writing and his part in the DCU, but I do think he lacks necessary screen presence. Nowhere near the same amount as Samuel L Jackson’s Nick Fury or Viola Davis’ Waller. A better actor would’ve done this character wonders.
Villainizing the Els:
Won’t spend too much time here, but the choice of turning loving scientist parents trying to save their son into fascists who wants their son to have a harem and rule is poor writing and awful immigrant allegory. Also shortens the amount of stories you can tell with both Superman and Supergirl if they go the all-human approach.
Poor Marketing:
4 years in and DC Studios hasn’t figured out how they want to have a public presence. Gunn believes in using social media to share public news instead of cons, but it just isn’t the same. Peter Safran isn’t all that great at presenting a panel according to multiple attendees at Cinema Con. James Gunn and DC Studios needs to actually attend SDCC with a Hall H panel and establish this studio as a true rival or contemporary to Marvel.
