OH THIS IS GOOD! This old lady handed her bank card to the teller and said “I would like to withdraw $10”. The teller told her “for withdrawals less than $100, please use the ATM. The old lady wanted to know why... The teller returned her bank card and irritably told her “these are the rules, please leave if there is no further matter. There is a line of customers behind you”. The old lady remained silent for a few seconds and handed her card back to the teller and said “please help me withdraw all the money I have.” The teller was astonished when she checked the account balance. She nodded her head, leaned down and respectfully told her “you have $300,000 in your account but the bank doesn’t have that much cash currently. Could you make an appointment and come back again tomorrow? The old lady then asked how much she could withdraw immediately. The teller told her any amount up to $3000. “Well please let me have $3000 now.” The teller kindly handed $3000 very friendly and with a smile to her. The old lady put $10 in her purse and asked the teller to deposit $2990 back into her account. The moral of this story is.... Don’t be difficult with old people, they spent a lifetime learning the skill.

@Beenbannedunfa1 @CalltoActivism Every time I go into my bank to do business I receive an email telling me to use the live tellers. They are outside in the drive thru lanes. I don’t hear well so I am just going to keep going inside. Yes, it’s sad. Banks have changed.

@kamslerka @Beenbannedunfa1 @CalltoActivism And that’s why peoples’ accounts should be maintained at credit unions, which actually strive to serve/benefit the customers. Banks exist to maximize revenues whatever the cost to customer service and no matter that bad policies can prove an actual disservice to the client/s.

Or would she have conducted her transaction as she requested? I feel she likely would have done the withdrawal but your wording is a bit unclear about that part.

@Beenbannedunfa1 @CalltoActivism My Mom was a teller too for many, many years & would have done it in a heartbeat. Plus she worked in small town banks, so Mom would have probably known the lady by name & that she had a lot of money in her account & not questioned her.

@WeatherlyJill @Beenbannedunfa1 @CalltoActivism Depends upon the atm. I’ve seen many gas station ones allowing for withdrawals in the amount of $5 up, in increments of $5 or $20. More gas stations here have those than don’t.

And like you, I find those rather pointless and silly. Thankfully, most here (rural southeast ga) don’t require those two extra 0’s be entered.

Made me so happy our flight was booked with any other airline! Smoothest ride ever; had I not looked out the window, I’d have felt as if I were on a bus, on land
