@TattedShinobi I want to know when my kid is misbehaving or struggling in some way. I also appreciate that teachers don’t have time to do this sort of thing that you are doing. So, if a teacher did call me, I would be a bit shocked and so grateful.

Ok so I am seeing a few post saying that I shouldn’t have called the parent, that this is the job. To help facilitate a safe environment to correct the behaviors that undermine classroom instruction. You’re actually correct, I do help facilitate social and emotional learning as well, while correcting disruptive behaviors. However, I cannot be the only one correcting the student. I thought that this stood without saying. Teamwork is the only way the students with behavioral issues do well. I need the parents to do their part. The parent should be (and more importantly should WANT to be) involved in this. There are aspects that I cannot teach the student, that the parent should want to be responsible for. This expectation is the reason why there is a teacher shortage. I personally know at least five different teachers who decided not to return. The Admin demands your best, the Parents demand your best, hell the students do THEIR best at times to undermine your best. It becomes too much. I love being an Educator but I did not agree to deal with this level of apathy from the parents while dealing with Admin as well. Mind you, this is from just one student. I am teaching over 100 students this year. Do you honestly believe I have the time to be the only person in the student’s life teaching them how to behave? Please be serious.

We tried to give @Delta the benefit of the doubt, but they’ve failed us twice now. On our way to Iceland, there was weather delaying our flight, so we were going to miss our connection at JFK. Delta rerouted us through Chicago. (1)

Now Delta won’t reimburse us for our hotel and food in Chicago saying it was weather-related. 🤬🤬🤬 (3)

When we got to Chicago, they wouldn’t let us on the plane, saying we only had paper tickets, not e-tickets. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ It was an error made by the person who rerouted us. We had to stay overnight in Chicago, and lose an entire day of our vacation. (2)

@jamesldowns I’m so naive. I thought dietitians were a standard part of the treatment team. Also, what even is “perfect care”? As in effective? Don’t we all deserve that? SMH

Is it normal to never see a dietician in 10 years of anorexia and 10 years of bulimia, despite asking for help? Because I’ve been told by my treatment team that I’m “demanding of perfect care” when I’ve asked if this is normal. It feels like we have alternate realities.

@LJohn814 @drquinngyn Yes it’s expensive. Yes the weight will come back. And yes the plan is to keep people on it forever even tho we don’t know if that will work (evidence so far shows it will not keep the weight off)

@drquinngyn Honest questions here because I don’t know - but as a provider are you prescribing a med that the patient will have to be on forever? Does the weight come back if they stop taking the med? And I’ve heard its incredibly expensive - true?

@olivesbananas @drquinngyn Um no. Being at a higher weight is associated with type 2 diabetes. That’s not the same as causing it. It’s more likely the weight cycling and weight stigma. Ob*sity does not kill. Quit it with the hyperbole

@drquinngyn Type 2 diabetes occurs as a result of obesity. It's an independent risk factor for kidney failure. And joint disease. And a slew of other issues. Obesity kills. Obese people are 80 times more likely to develop type 2 DM. Nip it in the bud I say!

@SpamTwister @drquinngyn There is no known way to lose weight and keep it off. These drugs are no different. Even weight loss surgery is not a slam dunk. Maybe we should stop trying to manipulate our bodies?

@drquinngyn how long can/should someone take either for weight loss? does this help retrain the brain for eating habits? will it all come back as soon as you stop, even if you're eating well?
