The decision has been taken following discussions with the club’s hierarchy over the last 48 hours although Howe had started the ball rolling on a potential departure a number of weeks ago. Howe told his coaching staff of his decision when he got back from Bristol last night in the early hours. Newcastle have already had a challenging summer after the sales of Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon and that continues with uncertainty over their captain Bruno Guimaraes. Those sales have played a factor in Howe’s decision amid concerns about what the squad will look like at the start of the new campaign. Howe has spent a number of months reflecting on his time at Newcastle and believed he could take the club forward this season, providing Newcastle recruited well this summer. @ptvolpe Worse thing we can do is give Bruno abuse on social media e.t.c, because that will just make him push harder to go. Both the fans and himself should be parting on good terms unlike Isak. However that said , the whole thing smells of dirty tactics. I.e tapping up e.t.c

The club are interested in Trafford. It’s the price deterring them. Hence why they have been looking overseas. Restes, Risser, Suzuki, Nicolas have all been linked. Trafford could be our GK for 10 years. It’s good value imo. Pope would solve Leeds issues #nufc

This summers focus has mostly been on the players leaving the club, coming to the club, or not coming to the club. But we can't forget that Wissa & Elanga cost over £100m with almost zero return on it. They've both had a decent World Cup and shall be rested for the start of pre-season. They both need to come back with fire in their bellies and a willingness to vastly improve on last term. There is no excuses for them anymore. If they start with a bang, the Geordies will get behind them more than they could ever imagine. They need to get their best form back and show the fans why we signed them! 🇨🇩 🇸🇪 #Nufc

@Mark14Robinson For the captain of the club to do it this way is unacceptable really, he owes the fan base's love and loyalty and could have conducted it better. Unless the club have known for a while and have kept quiet. Regardless of who is coming and going , there needs to be a statement

This might be an unpopular take, and I don’t blame him for wanting to leave, but if he loved the club/fans as much as he bangs on about, surely he would want to do business the proper ethical way? Or basically having the deal done on his end. Puts us at a massive disadvantage
